Fascinating J.K. Rowling

J.K. Rowling has topped a list of the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2007.

The multi-millionaire writer was handed the title by veteran US TV anchorwoman Barbara Walters, because of her ability to "transform the ordinary milestones of a child's life into a story that captivated the world."

She was closely followed by US radio broadcaster Don Imus, who caused a scandal earlier this year when he called Rutgers University's women's basketball team "a bunch of nappy-headed hos."

Hugo Chávez, the President of Venezuela, was voted the third most fascinating person of the year, and was followed by 'Dreamgirls' star Jennifer Hudson who came fourth.

The curvy actress won the hearts of America when she appeared alongside Beyoncé Knowles in 'Dreamgirls' after being voted out of TV talent show 'American Idol' the year before. She went on to scopp Best Actress Oscar for her role as Effie White in the film.

The top five was rounded off by 'Grey's Anatomy' actress Katherine Heigl.

British showbiz 'royalty' Victoria and David Beckham showed their move to Los Angeles has been a success by coming in joint sixth place.

MySpace founders Tom Anderson and Chris De Wolfe, former American President Bill Clinton and 'SexyBack' singer Justin Timberlake also featured in the list.
