Ben Affleck's J.Lo message

Ben Affleck has congratulated ex-fiancée Jennifer Lopez on her pregnancy.

The 'Good Will Hunting' star - who is now married to Jennifer Garner, with whom he has a 23-month-old daughter, Violet - sent J.Lo a message wishing her all the best for motherhood.

A source said: "Ben sent Jennifer a note to congratulate her. He raved how fatherhood has left him thrilled, and he said he knows what a great mother she will be.

"While the two have had little communication since their highly publicised break-up, Jennifer was deeply touched by Ben's heartfelt message."

Ben and J.Lo - who is pregnant with her and husband Marc Anthony's first child together - began dating in 2002 and got engaged the same year.

However, they split in 2004 both blaming the intense interest in their relationship.

Ben recently confessed his relationship with the 'Wedding Planner' star was "bad" for his career.

He said: "It was probably bad for my career. What happens is that your fame starts to affect your movie work. I ended up in an unfortunate crosshair position where I was in a relationship that the world was obsessed with and I paid a certain price for that."
