Us Weekly has got a dossier on the childhood of Britney Spears, and it isn't pretty.
According to lawyer Eric Ervin, who worked with Spears as a teenager, he tells Us Weekly in its new cover story that the "virgin" image Spears portrayed was, in his words, a "PR blitz."
Us reports that Spears lost her virginity at 14 to boyfriend Reg Jones, and that she and Justin Timberlake were having sex from the beginning of their relationship.
Spears' family's tragic and dodgy history was revealed..
Us revealed that Spears' paternal grandmother, Emma Jean Spears, in June 1966 committed suicide at age 31.
She suffered from depression, and shot herself in the chest with a shotgun at the grave of her infant son who had died eight years earlier just three days after being born.
Us got hold of the local newspaper report at the time: "The shotgun had been pressed against the woman's chest and she apparently pulled the trigger with a toe of the right foot from which a shoe had been removed."
The newspaper reported that Emma Jean had attempted suicide three times before.
Emma Jean Spears left behind four other children, including Britney's father, Jamie Spears, then an eighth grader.
Allegedly two of Jamie Spears' brothers ended up with criminal records and were homeless.

Haven't you heard of the discoveries of modern genetics? Of course she may have inherited some of those bum genes!
It's really easy to blame irresponsable behaviour on a 'horrific family background', but there are plenty of people who don't have the best upbringing or influences growing up, and they still manage to take responsability for themselves and their actions. Britney Spears might have grown up under some difficult circumstances but she's had plenty more opportunities than a lot of people who had it much harder than she did. At some point you need to accept responsability for yourself and your actions and stop pinning the blame on a 'difficult childhood' - what kind of childhood is she giving her own kids?
family stock matters
Family stock can be overcome - it's too easy for people to sit back and blame their problems in life on their background - a giant cop-out!
Why does everybody not just leave them alone, everybody has had some dodge stuff that have happend in their family aswell as to them, nobody critizes YOU! How is a person supposed to come right if every move you make is being critized. Where is the logic?
Don't you get it, she LOVES the spotlight - good and bad, and is out and about 24/7 so she can be seen! She doesn't have enough talent to ride on, so she compensates with her behavior. There are a lot of celebrities with genuine talent and great personalities who manage to keep themselves out of the constant news because that's the way they want it, and Britney could too if she wanted to! She DOESN'T!

What do they mean 'she never had a chance'? It seems like she's had lots of opportunities, and now has more money than she will probably ever need if she plays it right. Her grandmother's problems shouldn't affect how she is conducting her life! She wouldn't even have known her. Even her father's earlier problems shouldn't have any bearing - only how she herself was raised in her parents' home.
