Yes sure, I doubt Cruise could be happy with the biography of M. Morton, since if he speaks of Cruise's cult, which was much much damaged by Tom s observations on psychiatry - just to quote that one - it can be bet that the bio will add a lot to the reputation of Tom's brainwshing cult.

Seems to me like Morton is trying to make PR for his book. Did he actually provide any proof of threats? Obviously, if there is defamation in the book Mr. Cruise can sue him, but if you ask me all this talk about threats is a pathetic attempt to draw attention to a book that otherwise is most likely quite boring.

No doubt Scientology is going crazy to try and stop this book from coming out.Of course they will try to intimidate Morton,as they did with John Sweeney during and after his Panorama documentary exposing them.Tom Cruise is held up as a shining example of a high level Scientologist and can not be seen to be a flawed human being.Scientology is ruthless to it's critics. In L.Ron Hubbards' words, they are 'fair game',and to it's brainwashed members, critics are 'Suppressive Persons' or 'Chaos Merchants'.The truth needs to come out about this hideous organisation and and Morton is a brave man to take on this nasty cult.

Watch this thread, and see if you can discern who is a scientologist plant and who is a real person.
About what you'd expect from a neo-cult invented by a third-rate science-fiction writer in the course of a bar discussion and bet. (look it up).
Ron? Ron? Zap Tom into reality, will you?

The arrogance of the ruling elite within Scientology is what gets me down.
They don't understand how democracy required been earned & are an antipathy of democracy.
They go hand in hand with fascist systems using thug tactics of fascists.

Scientology is not going to be able to stop this book like they have done with others ( ie the recent suppression of 'Escaping Scientology' by Karen Schless Pressley )

Only the Church of Scientology sends out their goon squad of hyperzealous members and hired PI's to harass it's opponients after they refuse to be paid off. It's terrible what has happened to so many good people who are exercising their right to free speech. I wish Andrew Morton peace of mind as his information hits the fan.

It's especially helpful to critics of Scientology to see that Mr Morton is publicly stating what Scientology and Scientologists have been trying to do to him to get the book suppressed. He's in excellent company ( ie Richard Behar of Time and Forbes Magazines; The Scandal Of Scientology by Paulette Cooper; A Piece of Blue Sky by Jon Atak ; Bare-Faced Messiah The True Story of L Ron Hubbard by Russell Miller; L. Ron Hubbard Messiah or Madman by Bent Corydon; ) You can read these and more by googling those titles or author names.

I suspect there will be some information in this book regarding Nicole Kidman, who has probably been given the floor to discuss the terrible disconnection policy the church has enforced upon her through her children. Nicole struggles to be a part of their lives and because she does not agree with Scientology, she's been essentially cut out. This severing of ties with loved ones and friends is a sad fact of life that thousands of former scientologists are forced to live with.

Keep safe, Mr Morton .

The Church of Scientology has already been condemned as a criminal organization in some European country,on account of intimidation, extortion, embezzlement and other criminal misconduct .
This is indeed a dangerous mafia-like organization which needs to be forbidden.

He'd probably get more publicity by not going into hiding and having the SC goon squad do him in!!!

Scientology is a money grubbing cult. Thanks to the Internet and all the information that is now available about its abusive and criminal history, numerous families will be saved from having to deal with this cult.

I don't really care if Cruise is gay or not, although I suspect he probably is. I feel sorry for him because he's had his life controlled by a megalomaniac cult leader for most of his adult life. He embarrasses himself when he talks about anything serious because he is truly an uneducated dolt.

Tom is only taught things the cult wants to teach him. Like the existence of Thetans and the intergalactic tyrant Xenu. It's sad that all his time and money is being used so frivolously by his money grubbing cult.

Isn't Scientology just based on the thoughts of Ron Hubbard? Couldn't any of us start something like this, and why do people follow things like this - Jim Jones comes to mind?

Yup. It's a religion based on a science fiction book. Does that mean I can go start a religion based on the CJ Cherryh science fiction books I read? Hey, let's try. You get weasel out of paying taxes if you're a church.

Who cares if Tom is gay or not? However, he didn't manage to conceive with Mimi Rogers, who later got pregnant, nor with Nicole, who later got pregnant (terminated.) But poor sweet Katie managed to carry his child. Tom has been told by Scientology leadership (David Miscavige) that Suri is L. Ron Hubbard reincarnated. How about that? When does Suri take control of the Church of Scientology and its minions?

This kind of sick behavior isn't anything new for scientology. They have a very dark history of going after any writer who does a story or book about their evil actions.
Google the story of Paulette Cooper. Then check out xenu.net and xenutv.com

It's strange with all this mention and controversy around Scientology that no one ever seems to bother to study and apply it in order to verify and substantiate the basic axioms upon which Scientology bases its powerfully useful technology on. It's almost like all this controversy is a smokescreen to hide not having to do so. Shouldn't this be discerned and verified before any other consideration is to be made? Is it what it says it is or not is the question, and only personal resposibility can achieve this. In my mind I've answered this question for myself. Shouldn't others do the same. Shouldn't others honestly use their minds to evaluate and find out? Judging something by rumor or bias has been done too often especially about things of value, and it's usually done for clandestine ulterior motives since what other purpose could it fulfill? I don't think anything that claims to have the route to freedom should be erroneously judged so that some can exploit their own selfish grievances or ignorance. Ignorant people do ignorant things. I had an ignorant relative one time accuse me of being 'igornant.' The media seems to love unresolved controversies. I say unresolved because if it were resolved it wouldn't be a controversy would it? Why aren't people honest? Perhaps this could be answered in Scientology. Perhaps that's why it's attacked. Why isn't Scientology verified via its basic axioms instead of invalidated by cleverly devised rumor and bias. If it's a scam, show the evidence through an honest evauation of the basics from which its technology is derived ... otherwise, 'take-a-hike!'
