The 'Stardust' actress - who first appeared on television in 1979 when she was 21 - claims she is being offered a lot less work now she is nearly 50.
Pfeiffer, 49, told BANG Showbiz: "The older you get, the less likely you are to get the scripts, but it's important to keep trying."
Despite Hollywood apparently turning its back on the veteran actress, Pfeiffer was recently voted the woman who has grown most beautiful with age.
The screen beauty topped a poll by America's OK! magazine, conducted last month, which asked readers to name a female celebrity who has become more attractive with each passing year.
Pfeiffer beat a host of attractive stars, including 41-year-old supermodel Cindy Crawford and 'Ocean's Thirteen' actress Ellen Barkin, 53, to the title.
Pfeiffer - who recently vowed to never have plastic surgery - plays a witch in 'Stardust', and admits she loved playing a movie villain.
She said: "Actors playing bad guys have more fun, definitely!"
