Kevin Federline has been begged by PETA to seek full custody of Britney Spears' dogs.
The animal right's group have urged Kevin to care for his ex-wife's pets after he was awarded temporary full custody of the couple's sons, Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James, on Monday (01.10.07).
PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk pleaded: "For the sake of your children and the animals who are at risk while in Ms. Spears' custody, we hope that you will do the right and best thing for all involved and pursue a custody order for the animals so that your sons can continue to have the company of the animals they've grown to adore."
Britney - who was voted the worst celebrity dog owner by magazines New York Dog and Hollywood Dog last year - was investigated by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in August, following claims her Yorkshire terrier London's broken leg wasn't treated.
The troubled singer - who also owns a white Chihuahua called Bit Bit - was criticised when she bought London from a Bel-Air pet store for $3,000 in July.
Stephanie Shain, from the Humane Society, fumed: "We, the Humane Society of the United States, are extremely concerned not only that the pop star purchased a dog from a pet store, but also that she apparently took very little time - only 30 minutes - to make such a major decision.
"Ms. Spears is setting a damaging example to the public. Most dogs sold in pet stores come from puppy mills - factory-like facilities, churning out purebred and 'designer' puppies in large numbers."
