Lindsay Lohan 'makes amends'

Lindsay Lohan is giving her father "a chance to make amends".

Michael Lohan will visit the 'Mean Girls' star at Utah's Cirque Lodge rehab during which time they plan to spend five days at a secluded mountain lodge.

Lindsay's mother Dina told People magazine: "It can only help her recovery. It's time to mend.

"He is visiting Lindsay alone because we are giving her dad a chance to make amends."

Dina explained a protection order against her former spouse prevents her and Michael spending time with Lindsay at the same time.

The 21-year-old actress - who has been receiving treatment for drug and alcohol addiction since August 3 - was reunited with her father at the treatment centre for the first time in two-and-a-half years last month.

Lindsay and Michael will begin their five-day retreat today (02.10.07).

A source close to Michael said: "She is in a better place than ever. Lindsay asked him to come out, and he's ecstatic she is back in his life."

Another source revealed Lindsay has no immediate plans to leave rehab but may complete her court-mandated 10 days of community service for reckless driving by helping AIDS victims in South Africa.

Lindsay was arrested in July for driving under the influence and cocaine possession.
