The 21-year-old Zimbabwean - who enrolled at Leeds University earlier this month - is living in a run-down house with three pals, a far cry from the luxurious Cape Town villa she used to reside in.
It was originally thought Chelsy, whose father Charles is a millionaire Safari operator, would splash out on a top-of-the-range riverside apartment for the duration of her two-year law degree.
Instead she has opted for the red-brick terraced house in the city's run-down Hyde Park area, where a nearby property was recently swooped by police over fears it was a bomb factory.
A road named as 'Britain's Most Burgled Street' is also just a five-minute walk away.
The blonde beauty decided to move to Britain so she could see more of 23-year-old Harry.
A source close to the couple - who have managed to keep their long distance relationship going for over three years - said of the move: "This is make or break time.
"Harry has been trying to persuade her to move to England now for more than two years.
"He is very excited and this is the end of a very long wait for him."
Chelsy's father recently revealed he would pay for his daughter to have security guards because she does not qualify for royal protection.
