Heath Ledger's mystery date

Heath Ledger has been seen with a mystery woman - just days after it was claimed he was dating Helena Christensen.

The 'Brokeback Mountain' actor - who recently split from Michelle Williams, the mother of his baby daughter Matilda - was in a New York bar when two beautiful girls caught his eye and Heath's friend invited them back to the star's new apartment.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "He wasn't drinking, but he was there with his friend. The friend chased two girls as they were leaving and gave them Heath's address. He told them to meet at Heath's new apartment in SoHo."

Earlier this month, it was claimed Heath was dating Danish supermodel Helena after the pair were spotted canoodling during a romantic meal at a New York restaurant.

A fellow diner said: "They were making out throughout the dinner. Later, he even held her bag for her as she did interviews."

The smitten pair then went to the after-party for Naomi Watts and Viggo Mortensen's new movie 'Eastern Promises' at the SoHo Grand hotel.

Heath, 28, and Michelle, 26, are believed to have spent months apart after 23-month-old daughter Matilda was born and close friends and family were not surprised when they called time on their relationship.
