Colin Farrell took a homeless man on a $10,000 shopping spree.

The 'Miami Vice' star - who was in Toronto, Canada, to promote new movie 'Cassandra's Dream' - bumped into a tramp known as Stress, who he has met before, and whisked him away to the city's Europe Bound Travel Outfitters store to kit him out in new clothes and street essentials.

The Irish actor strolled into the shop and demanded: "Get him anything he wants."

Store manager Dave Mott said: "It was like they were best buddies. The homeless guy was going around grabbing stuff."

The pair picked up a $500 Arc'Teryx coat, a North Face sleeping bag, and a rolling backpack stuffed with socks, boots and underwear.

Mott added: "Everything was top line."

The total bill came to a whopping $2,100, but Farrell's generosity did not end there.

The 31-year-old star then took Stress to a cashpoint, where he drew out a wad of $20 bills for him. He also arranged to get Stress off the streets and pay the rent on a room for him for a year.

The whole day is rumoured to have set the millionaire actor back around $10,000.

After Farrell dropped Stress in the Yorkville area of the city, the shocked vagrant said: "I'm all set up. This is my chance to get off the street."

Stress now plans to tour the star's native Ireland by bike.

It is not the first time Farrell has helped Stress out.

Four years ago, Farrell was shooting his film 'A Home At The End Of The World' in the city and a radio DJ announced she would give $2,000 to the person who delivered the star to the station.

Farrell grabbed the first homeless person he saw, who happened to be Stress, threw him into his limousine and took him straight to the station, so he could claim the prize.

It would be nice if all well-to-do folks arranged a room for a year for a homeless person.

In fact, I have often thought we need a 'buddy system', which pairs up the richest and poorest persons in a city for life. Everyone would know who their 'buddy' is. The buddy concept would continue, matching high and low income earners, until finally two median income persons are paired up. They could help each other in a pinch too.

Most poeple care about the wellbeing of others in some form or fashion. Why not do something about it in a direct way?

Dave did not receive $10,000.00 from Colin. And I can tell you that Dave and Colin met on a spiritual level, regardless of all the publicity and fancy journalism. Dave is a good person, a good spirit, with a humble heart and Colin needed Dave. Nuff said.
Today, Dave was sent to me... and gave me the message, of love, and life. He said, 'You have to put out good energy, positive energy, and you will see your destiny.'
And Dave might not know this, but he touched me today... BIG TIME. I am so happy I spent my afternoon with Dave. Dave has no clue what a Life Line his words of inspiration were.
Colin and Dave have an understanding, and people, it's not money. F.Y.I. Dave is doing well.
Colin needed Dave, and vica versa... on a spiritual level. They did not seek eachother out, and they 'bumped into eachother' because 'it's God's Will', as Dave put it.
The Creator put Dave in my path today. He is an Angel. And because of him, I am making a conscience effort to be aware of myself, and the energy I put out. Put out positive energy, treat people good, and you will see your destiny.
