Jennifer Hudson is to star in 'Sex and the City: The Movie'.
The Oscar-winning actress will play columnist Carrie Bradshaw's assistant Louise in the film based on the hit US TV series.
Jennifer's representative said: "She's very excited."
Last month, a movie insider revealed: "Miss Bradshaw's career has blossomed since we last saw her. She's so busy and successful these days, she'll have a snazzy and smart young assistant who will play a big part in the film."
Filming on the hotly-anticipated project is due to start in New York next week.
The show's main stars Sarah Jessica Parker - who plays Carrie - Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon all signed up to reprise their roles as best friends living in the Big Apple after New Line Cinema agreed to finance and distribute the film.
Most recently Chris Noth, who plays Carrie's on/off love interest Mr. Big, also joined the cast.
This week, it was revealed that Carrie is set to finally find true love with Mr. Big at the end of the movie.
A source said: "Last week the production team visited the Four Seasons Hotel in New York for a possible location. One storyline has Mr. Big and Carrie house-hunting and they may use the hotel's penthouse in the film."
