Amy Winehouse doesn't believe in rehab.

The 'Back to Black' singer - who recently left a detox centre with husband Blake Fielder-Civil, following a drink and drugs overdose - believes the only person who can help her, is herself.

She told Britain's OK! magazine: "Rehab is great for some people and not for others. I've had a couple of mates who've gone and it's worked out great and I've got a few mates who are in and out all the time. A couple of mates did it once on the one day-at-a-time thing. It worked for them. I'm of the school of thought where, if you can't sort something out for yourself, no-one can help you. You're a bit lost if you can't sort yourself out."

The 23-year-old star also claims alcohol is more dangerous than taking heroin.

She added: "To be honest, drinking long-term is a lot worse than doing heroin or something. Alcohol's a real poison.

"But my justification for drinking is that there's not a lot of people my age who know exactly what they're going to be doing for the next five or ten years. Normal people spend time thinking, what am I going to do with my life? I spend my time drinking."
