Vanessa Hudgens has issued an apology to her fans for the photos of her posing nude that have hit the internet.
"I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me, the High School Musical star said in a statement. I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."
The actress' publicist also expressed regret that the photos surfaced online. "This was a photo which was taken privately, says Hudgens' rep. It is a personal matter and it is unfortunate that this has become public."
Hudgens, 18, is allegedly in negotiations to star in "High School Musical 3" for Disney.

She apologized?! For what?! Come on now, people! By posting a nude photo online?! You're kidding me! When will people realize that nude is not lewd? When will society wake up and be real instead of brainwashing people's minds into thinking such wrong ideas? Man, I want to swear so much 'R'-rated words, but my post will get deleted so I'm keeping this 'PG'! What is wrong with this world? Or, rather, this country, and others that believe in false modesty such as this? This is an outrage against simple nudity! Why? Why are we all so uptight about nudity?! Why do I have to keep repeating myself before people get the idea? And, some people probably never will, which means I have two options. I could either keep repeating this, over and over, until people get so tired of it, they'll fall asleep reading it...or, realize no one is going to change, no matter what I say, and just give up. I don't know which one I'm gonna pick. It's so frustrating that people make a big deal over nude photos of Vanessa and any other celeb out there that shows nude photos. Now, sex photos and films are a different story. But, natural nudity? She shouldn't have apologized, but I blame the people more than her. I don't know why she listened, but if I was her and if I had nude photos online, I wouldn't apologize. I'd be proud because I believe what I stand for...nudism! If people make a big deal, that's their problem, not mine. That's what Vanessa should have said, not apologize! Can't I even say one 'PG-13'-rated swear word without this post getting deleted? Okay, I'm done for now. But, as 'The Terminator' said, 'I'll be back!'
