Renée Zellweger has a "big crush" on Sir Paul McCartney

The 38-year-old actress enjoyed a romantic candlelit dinner with The Beatles legend last week shortly after they were spotted canoodling at a Tom Petty concert in New York.

But the 'Bridget Jones' star has not yet told the 65-year-old musician she has feelings for him.

She said: "I do have a big crush on Paul McCartney. I feel quite embarrassed saying it because I haven't even told him yet!

"I've told my friends and I think they might have told him. Well I guess if he doesn't know he will find out now."

Speculation the pair were dating first surfaced when they were pictured having a cosy chat at the August 25 concert.

The couple's intimate dinner took place at The American Hotel restaurant, in The Hamptons, last Thursday (30.08.07).

They spent two hours lingering over their meal before sharing a warm embrace. However, they left separately.

Renée - who split from her husband, country singer Kenny Chesney, in 2005 - and Paul had their third rendezvous at Jon Bon Jovi's party at his East Hampton's property on Saturday (01.09.07).

Paul - who is currently divorcing estranged wife Heather Mills - has denied romance rumours, saying they are just good friends.

He said: "We're not dating. We're in the same group of friends and that's it."
