Madonna and Sir Elton John have ended their bitter feud.
The pair embraced on stage at GQ magazine's Men of the Year Awards in London on Tuesday night (04.09.07), nearly three years after Elton accused Madonna of lip-synching during her live shows, leading to the rift.
As he introduced Madonna at the ceremony, Elton said: "This is a moment you thought you'd never see".
Elton and Madonna then hugged, before he added: "I have written a grovelling apology and offered to join the Kabbalah!"
Madonna has been a devout follower of Kabbalah, a mystical offshoot of Judaism, for nearly ten years.
Elton made his infamous comments after Madonna won a prize for live shows at the 2004 Q Awards, which are voted for by readers of the respected British music magazine.
He said: "Madonna, best f***ing live act? F*** off! Since when has lip-synching been live?
"That's me off her f***ing Christmas card list but do I give a toss? No."
The 'Ray of Light' singer hit back through her spokesperson, saying: "Madonna does not lip-synch nor does she spend her time trashing other artists."
The GQ Men of the Year Awards saw actor Sir Michael Caine receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Sir Paul McCartney collected the Man of the Year award he won in 2006, but was unable to accept.
Other guests included Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, supermodel Naomi Campbell and Sophie Dahl, who attended with her jazz singer boyfriend Jamie Cullum.
