Why does it matter whether anyone knows all about the celebrities' private lives? They are paid for their talents - period!
'Performers are paid for their talents - period'
Would that it were so. Now explain the near invisibility
of a very talented director - Woody Allen - these last
many years. Unlike Michael Jackson, he was not accused
of anything that was even illegal in his private life.
It was merely something America prefers not to think
about. So the press hasn't even mentioned his films
since then.
Performers are paid to be objects on which the public
can project its fantasies, and the performers' private
lives do figure into how effective a screen they can
be for pschological projection.
What should really bother the public is that the press
now hounds politicians for having any sign of a private
life - indicating they have devolved to mere performers.
Would that we had statesmen in office again, not mere
actors. But I guess Ronald Reagan blazed that path for
us.
Then perhaps people should stay out of the public life!!!
That damn Perez. Please don't take everything he says as fact. They've not been a couple for 20 years! They hadn't even met then. From what I've been told, they've been together b/n 10-13 years. If my math is correct in '87 Jodie was with one of the GoGos.
Woody Allen - talented? Allen is perhaps the most overrated writer/director in the history of film. He was only popular as long as self-involvement and narcissism were in vogue during the 70's and 80's. Thankfully we are past all that now, which is why you don't see him anymore - it has nothing to do with his sexual dalliances with his 'step-daughter'. Besides, his twisted view of sexual liberation was on display long before the Soon Yi affair.
Why must everyone's sex life be open to public review and comment just because others, such as Allen, are willing to put theirs out there? I was brought up to believe one's private life should remain private. Don't blame Foster just because she has the good sense to do the same. Actors don't do what they do in order for others such as yourself to pry into their personal lives to satisfy some prurient interst you and others may have.
Perez Hilton is fat UGLY and a repressed homosexual, his life is ugly so why not make evereyone's life the same. It's nobody's business who's gay or not, if you want to remain in the closet it bloody well your choice, who give people like PH the right to maline your name? He is a blooted nat head.
How did this creep get to be in the public eye? I totally agree with the last poster!
