Owen Wilson has put his acting career on hold while he recovers from his suicide bid.
The 38-year-old star has pulled out of new comedy 'Tropic Thunder', which he was due to film alongside close friend Ben Stiller.
Wilson was scheduled to spend a week filming his role for the movie, which began shooting in Hawaii six weeks ago.
It is not yet clear if the 'Wedding Crashers' actor will be replaced by another comic star, or if his part will be scrapped.
'Tropic Thunder' tells the story of a group of actors on the set of a war movie who find themselves caught up in a real-life battle.
Jack Black, Nick Nolte and Robert Downey Jr. also appear in the movie.
Stiller - who has starred in eight other films with Wilson including, 'Starsky and Hutch', 'Meet the Parents' and 'Zoolander' - is producing and directing the movie for DreamWorks.
Wilson tried to slash his wrists on Sunday (26.08.07), while rumours are rife he was high on a cocktail of drugs.
He released a statement, on Tuesday (28.08.07), saying: "I ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."
