Ryan Reynolds would never adopt a child from the Third World because he'd make a terrible father.

The 'Smokin' Aces' actor - who is rumoured to be dating Scarlett Johansson - believes he would make such a bad father the child would be better off staying in the Third World.

Reynolds said: "I was helping to build an orphanage in Malawi recently, and everyone asked if I tempted to adopt while I was there.

"Actually, I'm the last person who should be allowed to adopt. I'd be the first person in adoption history in which the kid would actually ask to go back to the orphanage!"

Reynolds obviously hasn't been paying attention to Scarlett's family dreams - the actress recently revealed she would love to adopt a child.

She said: "I would love to have kids. I haven't really figured it out yet but I can see having a kid or two, and I would like to adopt children."

Other celebrities who have adoptd children from the Third World include Madonna, whose 23-month-old son David Banda is from Malawi, and Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who have adopted from Ethiopia, Cambodia and Vietnam.
