Hulk Hogan's son was racing another car when he crashed into a tree, critically injuring his passenger, a witness has claimed.
Nick Bollea, 17 - the son of Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea - was allegedly racing his Toyota Supra against a Dodge Viper Coupe when he lost control and smashed into a palm tree on Sunday (26.08.07), according to eye witness Frances Vitalis.
Vitalis, who is a nurse, claims she was riding a motorcycle behind the two cars and saw them revving their engines and racing between traffic lights.
She is quoted by USA Today newspaper as saying: "I knew something was going to happen. You know this is a bad situation and these guys are hotdogging."
Hulk Hogan is said to own a Dodge Viper which matches the description of the car allegedly seen racing his son's Supra, but there is no suggestion the former professional wrestler played any part in the incident.
Bollea has been fined for speeding on four separate occasions in the last year, most recently just two weeks ago when he was caught driving at 82 mph in a 45 mph zone in Florida.
Police spokesman Wayne Shelor declined to comment on the reports because of the ongoing investigation.
He said detectives have talked to "a number of eye witnesses".
Bollea's passenger John Graziano, 22, remains in critical condition in Bayfront Medical Center.
Hulk and his family recently starred in reality TV show 'Hogan Knows Best'.
