A dog leaves it's money to a dog -
she was pretty
That was sarcasm, right? Looks like a man to me. Anyway, why is everybody so surprised?
of course it was.
What a nasty, nasty lady, May God Bless her anyway.
And to think that I once forced Joan Rivers, her dog Spike in tow, to exit the Helmsley Palace when I worked there -- knowing Leona was on her way to the hotel at the moment, and thinking she would have freaked out at the site of the dog. Seriously. Perhaps Leona would have kissed the pooch instead. -- Steve Peacock; author, 'Hotel Dick: Harlots, Starlets, Thieves & Sleaze.'
This is sickening. Dog has more value than lots of dying human beings.
I'm not saying Leona was a Saint, but she donated 99% of her money to charity. She gave most of that wealth back to society. She didn't give it to her Paris Hilton wannabe grand kids.
People are just haters.
George Lopez said it best the other day. Her picture, she looks like
the Joker in Batman. I about choked on my coffee. Good one George!
Another rich person croaks and leaves no money to her family. Who cares? Really? Does it even come CLOSE to concerning ANY of us???
Well, as in life so in death. I found a website which shows how to be the antidote to people like poor Leona. Check it out: perfectlastimpression.com. Much better.
Leona, and any one who has money, can give it to who or what ever they please. And she doesen't owe anyone an explanation. She earned it, she supported numerous charities - can any of you who so freely offer smug and self righteous judgments claim to do better? I fail to understand why anyone would want to reward grand children for behaviour she found to be unpleasant; they're not anymore entitled than you or me.
Leona found fault with everyone It seems.
I hope her disinherited grandchildren use this as a tool to get even by being more successful than the grandchildren with the inheritance. After all, it's not money that creates character; it's hardship.
I think she did the right thing. If you all can step back a step and rethink why would she done that? A lot of rich kids just think that they will inherit that huge of money and eventually burn them all in drugs & parties. Those might bet them in a lot of trouble. She might be saving her grandkid lives from those troubles. She wanted them to know and use they own resources to earn their living. She must be a really smart woman. In a sense, I would agree with her and respect her decisions.
what are the reasons grandkids 'reasons that are known to them,' please write book and tell all were dying (opps pun !!lol )to know
Lots of people here defending LH, but what makes any of you so sure that those 2 grandkids deserved the humiliation she is clearly hoping to visit on them, by leaving them zip but the dog an obscene bucket of money. I'm no bleeding heart, but I don't think any grandmother who truly loves her g'kids , would be so cruel in teaching them a lesson. Come on - she could have just cut them out and left it at that. But to rub it in with the mutt getting a cool 12 mil, give me a break!
For all any of us know, those 2 kids may have been the ones who deserved the inheritance, and the other 2 could have been just as mean as the 'lady'.
Luci the Cat:
She didn't 'earn' a thing. She married into it. She herself being one of the 'little people' she loathed, at one time she was a lowly secretary. Harry Helmsley lifted her out of the morass of 'little people-ness.'
Get some knowledge before you type anything.
One of my female friends has a Maltese, and these are very smart dogs. She sleeps with her male Maltese and it could very well be the case that 'Trouble' was the only creature on Earth that would pleasure Mrs.Helmsley in bed. Hence the $12 million inheritance.
It was her money so why not do with it as she pleased. She left billions to charity but obviously most people only read about the 12M to the dog.
I have a dog that I adore and would want her to be taken care of after my death and why not have her buried next to me. Who's business is it anyway?
I really hate it when people say WHO CARES HOW DOES IT AFFECT ME/YOU/US?
If you don't care don't say anything. NOW>>>>
This woman has always been rich and spoiled. She died. The sad thing is. She was alone and pitiful. Billions of dollars don't always buy joy. She had none in her life. Her attitude was that of why should I give those brats money they never did a thing for me ! Because she was a crab. Thats all. I am sure her grandkids are not living on a riverfront in a shack by some R/R tracks someplace.
Don't feel bad for the kids. Feel bad for this old bag that never had a warm moment with her beautiful grandchildren because she looked on them as rivals to her money.
GAAHHH!!
I agree with her - I would imagine she had years of problems from ungrateful
spoiled drug addicted grandchildren who felt they deserved everything, most likely only heard from when they wanted more money to blow.
A pet is unconditional love that makes good times great & bad times better & is solace in the constant series of crisis invoked by dependents.
Kudos to her, I wish she had left her entire estate to animal charities.
Surely I am not the only one who relates to this.
you also are a rich stuck up snooty heart and soulless misererly ugly old bag?
Pets love us no matter what. That dog deserves every penny.
What is the dog going to do with the money? It's rediculous!
however she wanted to distribute her money is up to her. There are lots of greedy ungrateful people in this world. I'm sure being wealthy she saw a LOT of that, and i am sure that many people were nice to her because of her money. At least her dog loved her unconditionally.
I wouldn't distribute my money that way, but I can kinda understand why she did.
