Cheryl Cole has spoken of the torment she suffered in an abusive relationship.
The Girls Aloud singer, who claims she was "physically bullied" by a former boyfriend when she was a teenager, says the experience was "horrible and degrading".
Cheryl, 24, revealed to Top of the Pops magazine: "When I was a teenager, I was in a really horrible relationship where I was emotionally and physically bullied by my boyfriend. It went on for a long time.
"It's degrading. When someone makes you feel small or humiliated, it's probably the worst thing you can go through."
Cheryl, who is now married to Chelsea football star Ashley Cole, also revealed she was bullied at school because she looked different to the other children.
She said: "Kids mocked me for having dark skin and other little things like that. I wasn't really terribly bullied because I knew how to stick up for myself, but I definitely know how it feels.
"It just shouldn't happen, full stop."
