David Beckham will sit a game out and not travel with the Los Angeles Galaxy for tomorrow's Major League Soccer game at Colorado after playing three full matches in six days.
Galaxy coach Frank Yallop made the decision after evaluating the midfielder's condition following a 3-0 loss to Chivas USA two nights ago, the team said in a statement.
Beckham, 32, is fully expected to play in the SuperLiga championship game against Mexican team Pachuca on Aug. 29th.
"I'd love to be on the pitch with my team this Sunday, but our training staff has advised me that it would be detrimental to not only my health for this game, but for the rest of the season as well,'' Beckham, who has been bothered by an ankle injury, said in the team's statement.
Beckham played 90 minutes in the Galaxy's 5-4 loss at New York on Aug. 18.
He then flew to London for the English national team, losing to Germany in an exhibition on Aug. 22, then returned to Los Angeles and went the full 90 minutes the next night against Chivas USA.
