Come on folks. Don Imus has already been completely smeared in the public arena. Everyone knows who he is and thinks him a bigot. This reeks of being a money/attention grabbing plot. Way to appear strong and let it roll off your back in April. But now, you want money. How sad. Man, people are just so sensitive these days. I have news for everyone. Life isn't fair, politically correct or nice. Sometimes you just have to be the bigger person and let it go. This action now truly casts this woman in a negative light.

This is the true color of what all these are about.
They accepted the appology but yet still sue for money.
I am calling you a pig now and lets go sue me.

Good for Kia Vaughn. Not one of the admirable young athletes of Rutgers deserved the despicable comments of a cheap sensationalist. I hope justice will be served.

What actual damage did Imus do to this woman? In fact , I am sure she has accepted monies or gifts for interviews. Imus deserves some of her cash. What Imus is getting is a rightful settlement for a breach of contract by his broadcaster, he is entitled and no one else deserves a penny of it.

Hey M&C!! You wrote 'nappy headed lawsuit' Does that mean the chick suing Imus can sue you too? You called her 'nappy headed' That's libel slander and defamation you know. Tee Hee.

Yes, I agree what a joke. She does have the right to sue, hopefully she will not be rewarded. Don is an idiot no doubt, but should not have to pay any monies.

Of course, if she wins I will gladly take a cut to help pay for my new Benz. Word to the people. Screw the community.

Rev Al.

It is unfortunate that individuals like bubba are allowed to walk around. Noone knows the implications ones comments can have than those who it adversely affects, this is how discrimination works, whether it is race, gender, creed, nationality. As an African-American male, I understand how it works daily. Unless you can put yourself in someone else's shoe, and understand there plight SHUT UP! It is because of persons like yourself why the world is the way it is.

How will a lawsuit restore the good name and reputation of the player? Receiving money won't make the person more credible. Actually, I find it makes her less so. It appears to damage her reputation rather than improve it. The firing of Don Imus and the humbling events that followed it give the players reputations credibility. A reasonable argument would be that they want compensation for the harm caused by his comments, emotional and otherwise.

Come to think of it, if she can sue Don Imus for ruining her reputation, maybe she owes Al Sharpton money for restoring it.

LAUGHABLE AND DEMEANING SUIT BY A COLLEGE ATTENDING PERSON WHO IS EITHER TRYING TO CATCH A GRAVY TRAIN OR DEMONSTRATING THAT HER EDUCATION HAS NOT ENABLED HER TO PLACE IMUS COMMENTS WHERE THEY BELONG.....IN THE TRASH. ALMOST EVERYONE REALISES THAT THE COMMENTS WERE STUPID AND BASELESS...EXCEPT THIS LADY..OR HER LAWYER PERHAPS.

It's unacceptable that says anything bad about anyone, anywhere, anytime. Will Ms. Vaughn be asking for one million dollars? Or perhaps two? I can't wait until she wins. Then using the precedent, I will be able sue everyone who ever called me name. I am going to be rich!

What are we still in High school here? Someone one calls you a name and you have to sue them becuase they have deep pockets.

If all the money from the law suit, after the lawer takes his cut who is really the person who wants to sue so they can buy another house, was going some place other than her pocket then one might be able to think she for some reason was really hurt in the process.

She is going to be more famus than if she was the best woman basketball player on earth.

Typical. It was never about dignity but payback. It is not against the law to give an opinion the last time I checked.

The above commentor is correct, this is not a case of slander. The technical term is libel and he is admittedly guilty of this. Unless the players are in fact nappy headed ho's though that would have to be proven in court.
Imus profited from his firing as a result of his actions, why shouldn't the people who have been hurt have a share?

What the hell? Anybody can sue anybody. But the real dumbass here was Imus for sucking up to the mega racists Jesse Jackass and Al Sharkton.
