Now we go from stupid comments to extortion. Of course actual damages can't be proved, and maliciousness with intent to harm can't be proved. So the case will not go to trial...it will be settled. Poor Kia, someone who once stood tall and had honor, now finds a chance to 'stick it to the man.' Sigh.
The fact that this money grubbing basketball player is choosing to sue him at this point almost makes me forget that IMUS is a racist. This player is no more entitled to a cent of IMUS's money than a random homeless person begging for change out of a stranger's pocket.
She should be stripped of her ability to play college and professional sports for complete and utter abuse of the legal system. Oh and if I am wrong, then how come every individual from the team isn't filing their own lawsuit. She should use her brain to make some money and maybe write a book about the experience instead of filing a ridiculous lawsuit, that is if she is even capable of putting together a sentence. This totally disgusts me that she is pulling this out of her A** at this point, so far after the incident.
It's a shame that if you listen to Rap or R/B music that they so much worse about themselves in every song lyric and some of them are white also. Yet, someone rich says something and LET'S SUE!!!
Let's also sue each and every R/B title and producer for all of their music and lyrics. They're the ones who promote the image as being cool and make sure people see it every day all day. Quit jumping on the lawsuit bandwagon and making america look even stupider for suing someone for FREEDOM OF SPEACH!!!

This comment is just as racist and sterotyped as what the controvercial artical is covering. Bubba? Does he mean 'a white guy'? Or is this incenuating that every person that does not share your views is some sort of racist, redneck, hillbilly, etc... choose your label. Everything and everybody has a label. Get over it.
By the way, please tell us what you would have instead of this 'bubba' person being able to walk around? Would you prefer him to be imprisoned, killed, crippled, hospitalized or exiled?

Jews have been the most oppressed people on this planet, but as a rule, you don't hear THEM whining and wanting to sue everyone over remarks made and name-calling. Should the Jews now sue Jesse Jackson over the remarks he made about them? Come on now - this is about money-grubbing, and nothing more. Do what the Jews did - pick yourself up by the boot-straps and DO something, instead of sitting around whining and looking for something for nothing. People make jokes about Jews because they WORK, and MAKE money. They don't sit around whining because their ancestors were slaves (which they were for far longer than blacks were). Not to mention the fact that NONE of these people were slaves, nor was anyone they try to get-over on these days ever a slave owner. Stop complaining and acting like the world owes you something, stop looking for reasons to take offense so you can sue 'whitey', and make an example of yourself for your own community - be an inspiration, and stop looking for pity or some kind of hand-out. Those who DO act like this and do for themselves by the sweat of their own brow are called 'Uncle Tom', instead of being venerated for what they have accomplished without the help of any Rainbow Coalition, the ACLU, or any of these other victimizing organizations who do nothing but foment hatred and keep pointing out the differences in people, making sure that we can't just 'all get along.'
Give me a break !!!!! This is why the U.S. has so many LAWYERS and why the Courts are backed up with B.S. Do we Honestly think this woman was damaged in anyway ??? The Lawyers get richer and the public gets more stupid everday. What do you think the outcome would have been....You can bet your horsesass that it would have infuriated most of the male population and Imus would have had to eat a whole lot more of horseturds. Wrong, the jews have the ADL which shakes down many people over what they say. The Anti Defamation League is Jewish owned and very aggressive regarding these things.

IMUS is the man. Of cource he is a bigot and guess what I don't despise him as an AA Male. People listen to Imus because he doesn't water down the talk and stands behind what he says. That is a rare thing to find and it should be defended and not attcked.
I could care less about Imus he doesn't affect me and if people use what he says as gospel cause they can't form their thoughts then they should be sued for driving up litigation costs with lawsuits that waste time and delay real justice from being served.
People that instigate law suits like this should be fined for taxing the overburdened court system.

You have to sue people like Imus because money is all they really care about. CBS did not fire him because they disagreed with his comments. They fired him because his comments might cost them money. Money is their god. Just like the adverage guy costing them money, if the amount is large enough, is a sure way to get thier attention.
Lawsuits will come out of the woodwork now that Imus has reached a settlement. Notice not one lawsuit against any rapper, or any other black person, for the use of the same terms in their public discourse. When they use such terms it only applies to every black woman -----
Don Imus is a bit better at what he does than the Rutgers women are at what they do, so far. Don will be just fine. This is just another strike against him but even after he strikes out there will be legions of loyals and new listeners tuning in wherever he goes. However, the Rutgers girls will have no such luck. They had an extremely limited exposure to THE WORLD and their 15 minutes of National fame was mired. Imus (as do you) knows that playing the Media for dollars is key to surviving as an Entertainer in America. As mentioned, Imus does it very well and has an impressive radio empire to show for it. So maybe, just maybe, we should refer to him as Professor. And maybe his first student is about to graduate to a settlement worth millions.
