The TruthAug 16th, 2007 - 04:16:02

This woman will never be able to make money on her own because of her level of intelligence... so she is just trying to sue. She will end up a street walker like the rest. Have fun.

First and foremost, I am not a racist, but I am so sick of people exploiting society because of some assumed white conspiracy to keep people of 'color' down. A good number of the 'oppressive' white race came to this country after the Civil War and were in the own way discriminated against because they were Finnish, German, Russian, etc... Racism is a 2 way street. How is it any less racist to call whites white bread or cracker? I'm not saying racism doesn't still exist, but other than racist organizations such as the NAACP and the occasional racist individual, racism is dying.

I haven't seen any negative publicity directed towards any of these basketball players since the comments were first made. In fact the total opposite happened, complete public support went to these girls and instead of letting it go they are going to ignorantly sue for slander.

I hope the lawsuit gets thrown out, it seems completely baseless and stupid, but then again I guess she's just a basketball player...

Don Imus and all the other companies associated with him have big pockets, you need to hit them where it hurts in order for them to change their business practices. I say good luck, and I hope they take a lot of money from this SOBs.

Let's face it. Imus was just saying what we are all thinking. For all we know he was speaking the truth. Their hair is nappy, it's on their head, and satistics and facts don't lie. Even Snoop D.O double G claims that women of an African decent are Hoes.

What an joke! The lawsuit she is filing is doing more damage to her reputation than anything Imus said or could have said. It is hard to envision how someone so stupid and inherently can be damaged by anything anyone says. She should spend more time studying and working and doing something productive than using our legal system to express this idiotic lawsuit. Or maybe she has tried that but realized that she cannot do either. Nothing good will come from this. Our legal system is far too generous. Imus, if you read this, I hope your lawyers make this an experience worth remembering.

Instead of a nappy-headed ho she's now a money-grubbing ho.

Now this is truly an American story. Sue someone if they say something negative about you, it solves all the problems. Let's teach these girls how to be vengeful...isn't that what any good institution of higher education should do? After all, it's the American way. What a crock of s__t.

Suing actually proves she's a ho, because a dignified woman would not have any real damages to speak of if some jackass maligned her virtue.

Isn't the truth a complete defense? You'd have to intend to hurt someone and if this suit flies, then Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh better quit radio. Give me a break!

I do not believe that suing Don Imus is the correct path to getting back someones self esteem. I have never seen money replace it. I believe that true forgivness from all of the ladies that were insulted by the comments is the best way for some real healing. I hope that those girls denounce the lawsuit and see it for what it is greed, and a chance to make a media event out of racial divide.

Just what we need.....another reason to drive people apart. All this is doing is causing fair-minded, middle-of-th-road thinking people to take sides. To think that this young woman has been irretrievably damaged by all this goes beyond ludicrous. And where was all this when the actual statement was made back in April? What were all the lawyers in court for a couple of months? How come she was not 'damaged' back in April? Could it be that maybe it took a month or two for someone to put ideas into this person's head that she should press the issue. After all, if counsel was to handle the lawsuit at no cost (other than part of any proceeds released from the suit), what does she have to lose? I would bet a dollar to a donut that the overwhelmingly mass majority people still do not know who this young lady is, other than the fact that she is the instigator of this lawsuit. The United States has become a sue-crazy society. We sue for everything from coffee being too hot, to having your favorite pants lost by the dry cleaner. Does this mean that every time my wife calls me a idiot for some dumb thing I did (or forgot to do), I can sue her for defamation of character if she said it in front of others? Hmmm....I'm going to consider suing those involved in the minor traffic accident this morning which delayed my timely arrival at work, thereby directly soliciting a comment from my supervisor as to how I needed to better organize my time, and since it was said within earshot of a group of fellow employees getting coffee, his remark has permanently scarred my professional reputation for the remainder of my professional career, and yadayadayadayada... Gimme a break......

Who the heck is Kia Vaughn.

I certainly hadn't heard the name before the stories about this suit were filed! I predict it will have the same affect as the $53,000,000 pants and should be filed accordingly.

What a farce!. Here we are once again blowing large amounts of money via the judiciary system to satisfy the lust for profits by individuals.
What is the problem? Imus was just doing what he was payed to. Doesn't the first amendment guarantee freedom of speech or is that only when certain groups such as NAACP and other special interest groups approve? I don't agree with what Imus said but I defend his right to say it.
It is ironic that instead of Christian forgiveness, Big Al Sharpton is apparently boosting his ratings, Kia Vaughn is going to guarantee her financial well-being while Richard Ancowitz will add more gold to his pot.
Mr. Ancowitz's comments vis re-establishing good name and reputation is something that only a lawyer could assert. Ms Vaughn is not the villain she is if anything, a small victim. Was she identified specifically? I don't think so.
Just think what Shakespeare could have done with this situation!

'This is a lawsuit in order to restore the good name and reputation of my client, Kia Vaughn.'

So, then, Ms. Vaughn's good name and reputation can be assigned a monetary value? Exactly how much is her good name and reputation worth in US currency?

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I would actually have more respect for her if her lawyer would have just been honest and issued the following statement 'Look, here's the deal. Sure, my client could just wait, graduate, and then get a job. But why in the world would she want to do that when she might be able to get an easy slice of the money pie that Don got served yesterday? And she won't even have to lift a finger for it! He'll probably settle rather than fight it and thus she'll get some money and I'll get some money. In the end, that's all that matters.'

If anyone truly believes this has anything to do with anything OTHER than easy money, then this lawyer and Ms. Vaughn are only the second and third dumbest persons on earth, respectively.

So an old guy tries to make a joke and it bombs hard. Was it really that embarrassing for this girl? Really? Enough to sue him? It was a joke, granted not funny and in bad taste but is there anyone out there who heard it and really believed she was a ho? I think she might be ruining her own reputation be being so petty.

So this means if I call someone a Bi--h, or N-gg-er, or a-- hole, or anything that is mean, I can be sued? Wow. This means Howard Stearn, and a bunch of other public figures like Dick Cheney should watch out.. They called people bad names in public. Lets sue them all. Imus should just give them a bunch of money and call it good.. Too bad for him, them, and too bad for us.. More dumb ass lawsuits.

It is a lawsuit to make more money for the lawyer. In fact her lawyer probably was the one who approached this woman to suggest she sue!
