Keira Knightley © Glenn Harris / PhotorazziWright, who also directs Keira in new movie 'Atonement', insists she should have been recognised by the British Academy of Film for her leading role as Elizabeth Bennett in 'Pride and Prejudice'.Wright fumed: "I thought it was disgusting and I still do that BAFTA snubbed her. She is someone who has had to learn her craft in public. She is a far better actress now than when she was 15, but that is hardly surprising."Keira received an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of the feisty literary character last year.Wright is also sick of people constantly criticising Keira's acting abilities.The filmmaker insists it is time the 21-year-old thespian was taken seriously as an actress and believes previous directors haven't given her challenging enough roles.He added: "Her performances are subtle, intuitive and glorious when she is given something to do. But when she is told to stand in a corner and look pretty then anyone would freeze up."(C) BANG Media International

In case you don't realize, Keira is 22 now, not 21. Other than that, I agree that she is a great actress, and people do need to take her more seriously and stop treating her like a pretty face.
