NOOOOO!!! I hope to GOD this isn't true... She's one of the few celebs out there that I have some sort of respect and admiration for right now...

It is like we are on the worst of all American wars (because this is a war we cannot win as our enemies do not exist and are fake creations of the NSA or the CIA so Dubya can pay the Oil and Weapons industry support for his electoral fraud), and now we have a bunch of 'celebrities' that will sleep with anyone and spread herpes around. Besides that, we took math out of the High School curricula so they can 'increase' the GPAs on order to meet some statistic. So, that way, kids can have more time to do unsafe sex and become prostitutes or drug dealers like the celebrities they idolize.
That is it. I am going to ask for asylum in Ireland and raise my kids somewhere else.
All I can say is dayum! The fact the herpes disease is scorching its way through Hollyweird does NOT surprise me. Too much bed-hopping there. Jeter's a nasty behopper too so I wouldn't be surprised by him spreading something.

It is possible that it is another form of herpes known commonly as coldsores that are on the lips (face). I know, I have been taking Valtrex for a while now, and before it was available I took acyclovir as a way to prevent outbreaks. Having a sore on your lip is pretty unpleasant, but for someone on the media it can be harmful to their careers.

Oh get over it! Up to 40% of the population are carriers of the Herpes virus (gynecological and otherwise) and like any viral disease, you only have to sleep with one person to catch it. So poor Jessica is just a victim of jealousy and nothing else. I hope whoever started this rumour gets a bad dose of this virus. You are more SHAMEFUL than the poor people who have it!!!!

I think herpes is so common among sexually active peaple that if you don't have it you're not havin enough fun. I got it in college in the 80's and get a small blister every year or so. Nothing like when I first contracteed it and thought the worl was over. half the girlfriends I slept with since then have said 'me too' when I told them I had it. And as far as giving it to others when you aren't experiencing symptoms. That's horseshit. I dated someone for 9 years and and someone else for 3 years and they never got it.
This just might be a case of the Yankee Herpes. Nothing serious however you might want to consider living on a different planet.
I resent the comment that Alba loses respect and admiration simply because she caught herpes (something that 25% of women have, though 90% of people who have it do not know!) I was a 28 year old virgin on my wedding night and caught it from my husband who never knew he had it. We should respect (or not) people because of their behavior. Maybe Alba behaved in a way that was risky and that shouldn't be respected, but don't assume that everyone who catches it was behaving poorly. I know I sure didn't! Also, for anyone who wants to judge... 90% of people who have it DO NOT KNOW they have it. That may include you.
Geez, who doesn't have one form or another of herpes? Not that its anyones business. People who spread these vicious rumors disguised as 'news stories'
are almost as disgusting as those who give a damn whether or not the woman has has herpes...and just to put the fear of reality into you ALOT of people have herpes and NEVER know it.
Here is the likely possibility of the contraction:
Derek Jeter could have had herpes 1 i.e. (cold sore) on is mouth and went down on Alba and she was then give a going away present called herpes 2 (genital warts or herpes)
Herpes 1 and 2 reside in you root ganglion or lets just say the connections in your spine and there is no 'cure'.
Herpes 3 is hep c = which is pam. anderson
As a ob/gyn in Los Angeles I must advise y'all, that many men and women have genital herpes and do not even know it, until they are hit with an ugly outbreak.
Some of the top stars, models and celebs with the cleanest images, have herpes or other vaginal STD's.
What looks clean and nice and attractive is not always so !
