Matt Damon's crying lessons
Aug 10, 2007, 7:00 GMT
Matt Damon's best friend Ben Affleck taught him how to stop his baby crying.
Matt, who has a 13-month-old daughter Isabella with his wife Luciana, was struggling to comfort his newborn until Ben revealed his secret weapon in keeping his own daughter quiet.
He said: "Ben hasn't really given me any advice about having a baby. But he gave us a plaything. He marched into our house one day and plopped it down and said, 'This works'. And then he turned around and walked out.
"It's a thing you can sit the baby in and it surrounds them with little activities. It's a good place to put her down if you need five minutes to change or something like that."
Ben has a 21-month-old daughter, Violet, with his actress wife Jennifer Garner.
Both actors admit fatherhood has changed their lives for the better.
Ben recently said: "I thank the Lord for my wife and child every day. My family is the most important thing, the centre of my life."
Matt exclaimed: "Everybody said before she was born, 'It's going to change your life.'
"But the reality is, the moment a baby enters your world, every other single thing in life drops down a peg. It's all less important."
