The Spice Girl's long-term partner, former Damage singer Jade Jones, was seen at north London hair salon-and-gallery flaxonptootch to buy a 'deluxe belly casting kit' costing £30 on Thursday (02.08.07).
One customer said: "Jade bounced into the shop like any excited expectant father and said he was interested in one of the kits in the window display.
"When I asked if the kit was for him, he laughed and said, 'No, not for me, but I do have a bit of a belly though.' "
The couple will have to be quick if they want the lasting memento, as nine-month-pregnant Emma, 31, is ready to give birth any day.
The kit is described as a "unique gift" that "includes all you need to make a 3D cast of that gorgeous bump!"
It contains easy-to-follow instructions, plaster bandage, Vaseline, plastic sheeting, legs and knickers protector, two pairs of gloves in two sizes, apron, picture hook and silver-wired ribbon.
The hairdresser who was working on the shop floor asked Jade, 27, if he was doing the cast himself as it was quite a messy process, and he said he was.
She handed him a card and told him to call the makers, Everlasting Castings, if he had any problems.
Jade - who works nearby as a trainee chef at Camden's The Lord Stanley pub - handed over the cash before hopping into his blue sports car parked outside and speeding off.
Emma and Jade - who have been dating for eight years - announced they were expecting their first baby together in January.
Everlasting Castings range also includes a 'baby casting kit' to make casts of your newborn's feet and hands.
