Reese Witherspoon's Ryan reconciliation

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe have rekindled their romance, it has been reported.

The Oscar-winning actress, who filed for divorce from Ryan last October citing irreconcilable differences, was seen dining at her favourite Los Angeles health-food restaurant with her estranged husband last week.

The pair have also been spotted shopping and going on morning runs together.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Reese and Ryan are trying to work it out. They are still close.

"They met for lunch at the A Votre Sante restaurant, a regular Brentwood haunt for Reese. And they're going on runs together around the Brentwood Country Club. Both are regular, dedicated runners. Running is a very healing, meditative thing, so maybe it will work its magic on them."

Reese also took Ryan to the Beverly Hills Niketown store to help her choose a new pair of running shoes.

Reese and Ryan, who were married for seven years, have two children together - seven-year-old daughter Ava and three-year-old son Deacon.

Ryan's representative has denied his client is on the verge of getting back together with Reese, saying: "This is not true."

It was claimed the pair's marriage broke down last year after Ryan allegedly had an affair with Australian actress Abbie Cornish.

Reese, 31, and Ryan, 32, met at Reese's 21st birthday party and went on to star together in 'Cruel Intentions'.

Last week, it was claimed Reese recently spent the night with her former lover Jake Gyllenhaal.

Jake - who met Reese on the set of 'Rendition' shortly after she split from Ryan - was seen buying sandwiches from a store in Los Angeles' Century City while Reese waited outside in her black Mercedes on July 24.

The pair reportedly drove to Reese's home where Jake is said to have spent the night.
