Sharon Osbourne was too "traumatised" to attend the funeral of her pop mogul father Don Arden yesterday (25.07.07).
'The X Factor' star returned to the UK from Los Angeles with her dad's body, but remained in London rather than attend the final burial in his hometown of Salford, Manchester.
Arden died in a Los Angeles nursing home on Saturday (21.07.07) at the age of 81 and was laid to rest in a private ceremony at a Jewish cemetery.
A family friend at the funeral said: "As you can imagine, Sharon is very upset about her father's death and was simply too traumatised to attend."
Sharon, 54, had a stormy relationship with her dad.
They were locked in a 20-year feud which began when she took Ozzy Osbourne's band Black Sabbath away from her father's record label shortly after marrying him.
They eventually settled their differences five years ago when Arden was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
Arden launched the careers of numerous successful bands, including the Small Faces and the Electric Light Orchestra.
He was dubbed the 'Al Capone of Pop' because of his reputation for violence.

who believe in their own hype. Shame on you Sharon, I gues the morning show was less traumatic. God forbit if ozzy passes will you not attend? Will that be tooo traumatic? Get a grip! Who the heck!
How can anyone make judgements on anothers action when they know NOTHING about the situation, circumstances or issues involved.
Sharon's father was a total jerk. He hired a hitman to try and kill Sharon after she began managing Ozzy's career. I though it was incredibly forgiving of her to try to reconnect and make peace with him, as I saw her do on an episode of The Osbournes. Personally if I had been Sharon, I would have never spoken to him again, and not only would I have not gone to his funeral, but I wouldn't have even cared that he had died in the first place. Who treats their children like that?
