'Harry Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe plans to spend his £20 million fortune on CDs and DVDs.
The young actor - who finally got his hands on his movie earnings when he turned 18 yesterday (23.07.07) - is not interested in splashing out on extravagant items, and is happy to treat himself to small gifts.
He said: "I don't plan to be one of those people who as soon as they turn 18 suddenly buy themselves a massive sports car collection.
"I don't think I'll be particularly extravagant. The things I like buying are things that cost about £10, books, CDs and DVDs."
Daniel - whose millions had been held in a trust set up by his parents - spent his birthday watching the England cricket team play India at London's Lord's cricket ground with a group of friends.
He said: "People expected me to have some massive extravagant bash with lots of celebrities, but that is so not my thing. Just to come here for the day was a bit of a dream really."
The star did treat himself to one large birthday present, a £12,000 Fiat Grande Punto.
Meanwhile, the new 'Harry Potter' adventure has officially become the fastest-selling book of all time.
Sales of J.K. Rowling's seventh and final book, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows', hit over 11 million in Britain and the US just 24 hours after its release at midnight on Saturday (21.07.07).
The astonishing figure smashes the 9 million record previously set by the sixth book, 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince'.

He seems to be a wise young man.
If you want a living definition of crass see Timabaland.
The way he brags about popping tags and wearing shoes only once etc etc is not cool as he likes to think but indeed is rather tragic and hollow.
The whole thing reeks of former 'have-nots' becoming 'now-haves'.
That's good to see that the money hasn't gone to his head. He's smart to manage his money well unlike other celebrities in the past, Mike Tyson, MC Hammer, who wasted it all away.

This shows good upbringing a class amongst other pathetic celebrities who indulge themselves in overpriced and totally over rated designer goods and jewelery.
Don't get me wrong...it's nice to have a treat or two (a good car or even a nice house), but to throw money away on a bag you will use once, or overpriced designer clothes is really quite sad.
Good on you Radcliff for being such a decent role-model and keeping your self-respect and morals. (There doesn't seem much of that these days)
