Liam Neeson claims boxing saved his life.
The 'Schindler's List' actor - who was an amateur champion boxer for three years until he began suffering blackouts at 15 - insists the sport helped him channel his teenage anger.
Neeson said: "To have a sport, a very healthy sport, where you could get rid of aggression in a structured way and nobody actually got hurt. I think it saved my life."
The 55-year-old star claims growing up in war-torn Northern Ireland made him interested in what drives people to become consumed with hatred.
Liam said: "I'm fascinated with the rage that destroys people and nations. I grew up in Northern Ireland and lived through 'The Troubles'. I saw the violence, the results of violence first hand. It's always terrified me and fascinated me. It is a gut reaction to understand how rage can eat you alive. I understand it. I have never known it myself, but I knew guys who did. Some of them aren't on this planet any more because of it."
