'My Name is Earl' star Jaime Pressly has branded celebrities who adopt children "vain and lazy".
The 29-year-old star and her DJ boyfriend Eric Calvo welcomed their first child into the world two months ago, but although she struggled with her pregnancy Jaime insists she will never follow in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and Madonna and adopt.
She said in an interview with Grazia magazine: "Some women just skip having babies or adopt because they don't want to get fat or they haven't put in the time to find a partner. It's great to adopt, but a lot of adoptions are motivated by vanity and laziness."
Pressly - who has called her new son Dezi - also claims some actresses miss out on motherhood because they focus too much on their careers.
She said: "So many Hollywood actresses become successful and then just keep on going - they miss out on having a partner and a baby and end up lonely.
"I know a lot of very rich, very successful, very lonely women in Los Angeles and I never wanted to be one of them."

Forget Angelina for a moment, the bigger slam is on adoption in general. It's a rather sad and cynical view of why anyone would adopt which writes her (Ms. Pressly) off in a rather negative light. While I'd like to see more 'older' child adoptions. The fact that any adoptions are taking place especially in cases where these are children unlikely to have even a mediocre life... whether the parent is rich or poor, to take on a child with no biological connection to yourself... there's a bit of selfless love there. I used to think it wasn't such a big deal growing up but it seems so many people would rather have their own and write off adoption as a mixed bag of psychosis and damage in raising 'somebody else's' child. And viewing children of adoption as somebody else's child. It's just completely screwed up. So these actors are lazy, yeah, does she even know what's involved in an adoption process?? Even for the most well equipped, financially stable person it's a hell of a process and more so if you're doing it from outside of the country you're adopting from. And in many places, if the child is of a different background from yourself or you have media connections or there's some right-wing rhetoric involved. It's not the same as picking up a puppy to match your purse. And it's a process that opens your life, home, associations, career up to strangers.. most 'stars' go out of their way to avoid that. Unless you're dealing with the parent directly or an attorney with an anonymous mum about to give birth, for the most part adoptions are not a quick and tangle-free mess. It's not as simple of a process of rampant sexual activity. Not to say that pregnancy is any easier in some cases. But this isn't a slam against hollywood or fame, but of adoption.
So, Ms. Pressly should kindly sod off.
Some people do adopt for the wrong reasons...just as some people give birth for the wrong reasons.

I don't think Ms. Jaimi Pressly has read up on Angelina Jolie's at all. You have to research the other person first. There is no comparison between Jaimi's life and Angelina. How arrogant can one be?
