Sir Paul McCartney will give estranged wife Heather Mills a record-breaking £70 million divorce settlement, it has been reported.
The Beatles legend - who split from Heather in May 2006 following a four-year marriage - has agreed to give the former model a lump sum of £15 million in what could be the largest divorce deal in British legal history.
A source said: "We're extremely close to a resolution. The figures have been agreed."
Heather, 39, will reportedly receive a further £3.5 million every year until their three-year-old daughter Beatrice turns 18.
Paul, 65, will reportedly pay all the expenses for Beatrice's schooling, travel, security and nannies and the pair will share custody of their daughter.
The divorce deal is also said to include a clause banning the pair from speaking publicly about the breakdown of their marriage.
The source told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "Negotiations have been drawn out because Heather wants her story told. Paul's lawyers are saying she can't talk about the marriage. But Heather's argument is that that's a very grey area, like if she wants to update her biography for example. It's a very complex agreement."
Heather, who recently bought a £400,000 house in Slovenia, allegedly won't receive any property in the deal.
Representatives for Paul and Heather said they would not comment on any progress with divorce proceedings.

I agree, except that it should be also applied to a wife who is already well off. Paul, best wishes for the future and don't be put off looking for a real lady.A similar thing happened to me (on a vastly smaller scale) but I've now been married for fifteen years to a REAL lady!
I think the divorce settlement is more than Heather Mills deserves. Good luck to her and my best wishes and hopes for Paul.
Guess this proves tarts don't have hearts.
As to the clause about neither party talking about the marriage - I think that is fair and shows what a gentleman Paul McCartney is and exposes further what a self-serving woman (certainly she is no lady) Heather Mills is.
Guess she has had to move to Slovenia where few people know her for what she really is. Oh well - I guess the UK will get along fine without her.

I will never understand why it's o.k. for this - or ANY woman - to get so much money for doing nothing but marrying an already rich and successful man. She had nothing to do with his success and, if anything, has done all she can do to tarnish his name. She is perfectly capable of making her own money by giving speeches, writing books, modeling, etc and by her own admission she is a 'strong woman'. I guess she got what she wanted. Good luck to you Paul. I hope you find someone loving and down to earth who truly deserves you.
