I find the actions of Michael Vick not only criminal but heartbreaking. I love foot ball but I will not support this man in any way including watching him play football. He is a killer and should be put in prison.

Thank You

And you all are suprised???? It never ceases to amaze me how naive lilly white america is. If you only knew. Wake up and realize that marketing of personalities for public perception is just that, a nice spin to sell and make money. Just because a guy can play a particular sport well or a actor gets picked for the next big blockbuster does not make them good wholesome citizens.
Get a clue.

Michael Vick lied to the head of the NFL. The proof is in hand that he did so. He made false statements to the press. Since garnering such a high slary for his athletic abilities he has shown very little self control, and less than good judgement. The last game he played in an Atlanta uniform is likely his last game in the NFL. And the fault lies solely with him, as he knew his dog fighting was suspect and continued anyway.

He's innocent until proven guilty, folks; an indictment only means the case can move on. It's not a conviction. Yes, the story is compelling, and it certainly looks like he might be guilty, but the commentary so far in this thread sounds like, well, a bunch of snarling pit bulls. And I'm sure you are all perfect, by the way. . . you're certainly not as bad as Michael Vick has not yet been proven to be, right? So, keep feeling good about yourself while you tear down others, especially if it seems like they deserve to be torn down. What do YOU deserve?

I cant speak for anyone else here, but I am certainly better than that piece of trash. This isn't breaking news either Tim. Lots of people have known about the investigations into this for some time. He doesn't need to go to a courthouse to be proven guilty, hes already been caught. If you walked in on your wife sleeping with your neighbor, would you have to bring it to court for her to be proven guilty?

Another blow to a beautiful breedJul 18th, 2007 - 16:49:28

As a pit bull owner, I am saddened by yet another blow to this beautiful breed's image. These dogs, despite what our 'media' has tried to tell us, are considered one of the most gentle of all, especially to humans.
Agression is TRAINED into these dogs, by mindless, cruel, indecent cretins like Mr. Vick and his posse of idiots.
How a human being can take the life of an intelligent animal is beyond me.
Our pit sleeps with our cats, and plays with children with NO agression. This is a MYTH.
The problem lies in the fact that these dogs are strong, and they don't give up when pushed to the brink.
Our dog has never started a fight at the dog park, it's always another dog ATTACKING our dog, with a typically unbalanced owner running behind, screaming at OUR dog!
Anyway folks, please let this incident show that people are the weak link, not dogs.

Michael Vick is an idiot, as we can easily see by the way he attempts to play football. Even with his blessed talent physically, he doesn't have a chance as a quarterback because of his horrible decision making on the field.

Well, now we have evidence that he also has the same level of decision making OFF the field.

On top of it all, he LIED about all of this. Like he didn't know there were 55 dogs on his property!

Rot in hell

I can't believe the idiot actually put on dog fights. I agree that pit bulls are a very gentle breed, my best friend has a beautiful female pit puppy and she is the sweetest puppy. Michael Vick SHOULD go to prison, or maybe someone should slam him on the ground, or many of the other things that he (and his idiotic friends) did to the poor dogs. As for the comment about people talking down to a 'Colored' person, grow up, this isn't 1956 anymore, he is just as much at fault as any other person from any other race that would be dumb enough to pull this shit.

Prison is not good enough. People who get enjoyment out of the suffering of others should suffer themselves. Vick and his co-horts have proven they are not decent enough to live with the rest of human society nor should they be allowed anywhere near animals. He's a victimizer. For those who think he's only into dog fighting, and that isn't worthy of your wrath, I'm sure other violence turns him on as well. It's a pattern. Ask any serial killer.

If this man is indeed guilty of this horrific crime he deserves to be treated like a common criminal and someone who is completely bereft of common decency. The fact that anyone could do something like this to helpless animals is so unthinkable it is almost too much to wrap your head around. In addition, the press, by publishing just exactly was was done to the poor defenseless animals just adds fuel to the fire of some really potentially misguided wretches out there who are only too willing to follow in Wick's footsteps. It is time we stopped making ball players into gods - they are only too human (or sub-human) as this proves.

The NFL is filled with people that support Michael Vick and the exact same type of ghetto mentality that breeds the immorality so prevalent in the inner city, so is it any wonder that he or those like him think that murder and cruelty are acceptable? No, it is not. The simple fact is that Michael Vick is scum. People who support him are scum, and furthermore, people who support any behavior that devalues life are scum.... is the point getting through? I doubt it.

ah...MaryJul 18th, 2007 - 20:03:49

in this particular story, race is most definitely a coloring factor pun intended. The dog fighting craze is rampant in the ghetto, gang culture and poor southern towns, whereas poor whites are known for puppy mill breeding offenses, poor blacks are known for fighting dogs for money. Which begs the question- why would an ostensibly educated rich athlete mix with this black trash?

Vick is no different than his juvenile brother who thinks stomping on someone already down during a football game is appropriate. This story sounds really bad. Anyone involved with torture and death of animals does not appreciate life in any form and deserves the maximum time the crime gets. The 'thug life' culture needs to be 'put to sleep.' The fighting, maiming, torturing, and vicious killing of animals is a heinous crime and the laws governing penalty are a ridiculous joke. Animal cruelty is perpetuated by those lax laws and the people who refuse to treat animals as feeling creatures.

Worse still, is the end result of the proven LINK* between animal cruelty and child abuse. Today it is the animal; who will be the next target?

If this person is found guilty of animal cruelty and dog fighting, I hope he and the other people involved, get both the maximum sentence allowed under the law, and the help they so desperately need to break the cycle of abuse.

I want to see the name of every person who participated in this slaughter plastered all over the news. I want to hear how they are going to explain to their children how they went and had fun with that famous football player as they watched the dogs tear each other apart, how they were electrocuted, how they were drowned, how they were shot, how they were torn apart. People that treat and raise pit bulls in this manner are the ones that have ruined it for the people that love these loyal dogs, and raise them right. They are banned and illegal all over the country because people are greedy and ignorant. As for Michael Vick, my sons play football and love the sport, and they loved Michael Vick as well. It's very sad that he has made such a poor decision, not realizing how many children look up to him. But it is a lesson well taught to both my boys, people are not always what they seem. He had a good thing going with the Falcon's and is a great player, it's to bad. Even if he is found innocent, his name will never be the same.

I support it was inevitable, there just had a to a good reason why Mike Vick turned into the poor excuse of a human being that he is. Let's see, Deon Sanders just said, it is his background, his environment, he's black. And this stinks. Being from a poor background, a less than enviable background, that he is famous, that he makes a lot of money and that he is black entitles him to do this horrendous thing and then expect to get away with it. Poor Mike. How many black people in this country, who are in far less favorable circumstances than he is has never found it necessary to conduct dog fights, to enjoy the killing of the losers, expect his cousin to take his dive for him and have two fellow athletes come to his rescuse with the explainaton that the 'feds' are picking on him because he is black. The time has come when this just isn't going to cut it anymore. We got white people stealing to keep from starving and going to jail for it. And this pig expects to walk away from this? Poor Mike

The worst part is that he has enough money to buy his innocence, even though he is guilty. People like this make me sick and i would love to tell him that to his face. If ANYONE thinks that animal abuse is acceptable, they should be put in jail and made to work their butts off everyday cleaning up dog crap.
