Man-O-man. Poor Dave is stressed out. Let's see, I wonder how that US Mail Deliver person or that single mom working two or three jobs, manages to get up in the moring to face life day after day without any outlet to make public their 'shattered cruel existance.'

Maybe Dave should fork over a few of his 'stressed out' bucks to someone else where it can make a difference. Heck, give me the proceeds from one of his royalty checks and I'll be happy and greatful.

Maybe Dave has the onset of some terminal illness and he should be looking at saving his life instead of making us all sick with his constant 'piss and moan' lines that serve as excuses for his severe case of 'disfunctinality.'

How could someone that has his fortune go our of their way to dump it in the trash.

This guy and his group (Paris Hilton, Lindsay 'LoHand', etc) make me sick. In the old days they would have been put in the tub with the other runts. The world needs strength, not fortunate...financially safe and lucky people who can only complain about how tough the world is on them.

Dave travels too much? If the guy was jumping from town to town scoring his next snoot of blow we wouldn't be hearing about how 'tie tie' his.

tor, that was probably the worst argument i have ever heard/read. you obviously work some thankless job, probably a US Postal worker since you hinted at that in your statement, where people dont expect you to come up with the type of genius hilarity that dave's jobs rigorously demands. he gets paid a lot because his profession has a high demand for the excellent talent that he has. also, it's not like he called up the tabloids when he was put in the hospital and told them some sad, sad story. photographers and writers follow him around and write about the mundane everyday activities of his life so people like you, tor, have something to read and slobber furociously over after you come home from a day at your minimum wage job. dave's job at the chappelle show was just as demanding as the ceo of a major corporation. the chappelle show was his company and he was trying to/forced to expand it. and jokes were the product he was selling. and when he thought he couldn't produce a product that of the same quality that he was known for he pulled out. he has enough respect for himself and his audience to not sell out like many people would. tor, you really need to learn how to see someone's problems from a more objective point of view and not subject all your opinions to your own blatant jealousy and discontent for your own life. oh, and by the way you spelled GRATEFUL (not greatful) wrong. hahahaha.

Tor, Dave Chapelle has a much greater understanding of your daily grind than you do of his. I guarantee it.

Ohh the poor baby! Give a break. Im an idiot for even wasting my time on this subjest. Tor, your exactley right! All these show Biz people complain to damn much! If you choose to be a celeb, then thats the price you pay. and if u complain that 'it's to much' then stop. But they won't, with money comes greed and thats why they still do it. Dave will be back soon and in another few months we'll hear he had another 'mental breakdown'

Tor and Antz,

Agreed, Biz Show people complain too much and are generally Drama Queens/Kings. I don't think the article I just read said anything about this actor complaining though.

I believe that everything is strategic and intentional, though. My hypothesis is that he got too high and wanted to cover it up by saying something. Either that or he can use this 'exhaustion' as a way to get out of contracts he may be bound to. There is, however the possiblity that the guy is 'exhausted'. Sadly, nobody in this country cares to read an article about a USPS worker being exhausted, which is really a travesty since the working people of this country waste their time giving a S#!t about people 'in the biz'. I'd rather care about my own lot, or those even worse off (the working people in poorer countries).

Buh Bye.

I truly believe Dave Chappelle is a genius and a man of humor. Yes he chose to be a 'celeb' but that still makes him human. A man once said 'Name your price before you get there. And if you ever find it's more expensive than what you're prepared to give, then get out.' Dave Chappelle after hearing the news of a 50 million dollar contract used that quote. The quote coming from his own fater. I understand that you think he is waisting our time by winning and leaving to Africa, but what we really have to look at is 'Does Dave Chappelle deserve fame and fourtune.' And the answer is yes, completely yes no question about it. Dave has put so many smiles and laughter to people and he has not lost that in interest he has just had problems with the inner circle of the show and comdedy central putting so much stress on him. I don't say the full blame is on them, but we must remember that the real reason we say these things about Dave and his money or if he has to much traveling time is that we truly miss him on that stage. I wish everyone would try putting themselves in Daves shoes and seeing what his life is like before judging and making true or untrue statements or even ones opinion.

Truth (and i appreciate everyone that stood up for Dave and feels the same way I do)

You all have no idea what its like out on that stage for years at a time. you have no idea what its like to be followed by paparazzi everywhere you go. you have no idea what its like coming up with comedy routines and skits almost every day. you think that because hes rich he has an easy life. maybe you should give stand up a try. oh wait, you cant, because you dont have the guts or the balls or the brains to do it.
dave chappelle isnt complaining. he simply was tired and probably a little sick, thats all. he wasnt asking for a handout like mr Tor is. he simply checked into a hospital because he was sick. so, i ask you, the next time you feel sick, does that mean youre a whining baby and abuser of cash that has been hard earned? regardless of the scale, dave has worked for his sum of money. he has a right to be tired, and he has a right to quit if he feels like it.
