Sir Elton John is building his own private photography gallery at his British home.
The 'Rocket Man' singer is spending millions of pounds on the gallery which will be located in the grounds of his Windsor estate.
A source said: "He has over 2,500 photographs in his collection, including works by Robert Mapplethorpe, Andy Warhol and Herb Ritts. He wants somewhere to showcase them.
"He is also going to build a house next to the gallery for a curator to live in."
The 60-year-old singer recently revealed he couldn't use a washing machine until he was 43.
Elton - who overcame cocaine addiction - confessed: "I wasn't ashamed of being a drug addict but I was ashamed to ask how to work a washing machine. I couldn't do anything for myself."
The flamboyant performer wouldn't let anyone tell him what to do when he was younger because his ego was so out of control.
He explained: "Because I am Elton John you have to fit in with my lifestyle."

I'm sorry, but I can't accept how this article was put together. Either it's about Elton's gallery or it's about sound bites you took out of context from the original interview, but not both. This mishmash would net you a 'D-' in composition class. Stick to one subject, please. And I also have to say, taking the line about 'I'm Elton, you have to do what I say' out of context, as well as the bit about the washing machine, is a thinly-veiled attempt at riducule. I think that is what this so-called articles sole purpose is. For shame! I've seen and read the original Australian interview in its entirety, and know that you don't mention at all what either blurb is in reference to. I suggest that you find that article, and see if you can't do a better job of taking meaningful excerpts. On the whole this is a horribly done article, one which tells me I'd better find the original to the gallery story, as well. How I long for the days when journalists, such as they are, simply reported their story rather than use the medium to pass judgment and affect public opinion!
