Michael Jackson's children infuriated hotel staff by ordering fast food from room service at 4am, it has been claimed.

The 'Thriller' singer - who was staying at the Inn at Perry Cabin in the seaside town of St. Michael's, Maryland, last week - demanded finger food be brought to his room for ten-year-old Prince Michael, nine-year-old girl Paris and five-year-old Prince Michael II, who is known as 'Blanket'.

A staff member told the New York Post newspaper: "They were on a completely different time zone.

"We were getting calls at 4am from Jackson himself asking for all kinds of things, including chicken fingers and other types of kids' food."

However Jackson was apologetic for his requests, and thanked the staff for their efforts.

The source added: "He even called and blessed the manager."

The 'Beat It' singer is rumoured to be looking into buying a home in St. Michaels after it was made a "no-fly zone".

The picturesque town has become a property hot spot for stars wanting to escape paparazzi helicopters after US Vice President Dick Cheney imposed the ban when he bought a house there in 2005.

Legendary guitarist Eric Clapton enjoys yachting holidays in the town and both Julia Roberts and Oprah Winfrey are also said to be looking at beachfront homes.

Oh please...what's the big deal for ordering food at 4 am? As if it's so unusual that no other human being has done this before. They are a hotel, and they should be able to provide service for their guests. Ordering chicken fingers at 4 am in the morning is not oh so strange. But of course, if Michael Jackson is doing it, then it MUST be the weirdest thing ever!

Ha! I agree with that. People use this as an exuse for tabloids and making money. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. I'm going to stay at this hotel and order caviar on top of a New York Sirloin Steak and a side of mashed potatoes at 5am and see if I end up in the news. Exposure! yessssss... haha

Great story, guys...'Pop star orders room service'. This story says nothing about MJ and instead reflects badly on the hotel (who's job it is to look after its guests), and on the website's publishing it.

This isn't interesting, insightful, or revealing. This isn't story. Choose more carefully what you choose to publish cos this is just flipping boring.

hi.i work at the hotel and it was 'not' a problem for us to provide roomservice for mr jackson or anyother guests.he orderd the food at '2am' and it was actually 'burgers and fries'. even if he 'had' orderd at 4am, it would have not been a problem! he met with a few of the staff and was a gentleman.

BIG DEAL!!!! so Michael and his children were hungry. Like people havent gotten cravings late at night. People just always have to find anything to say about michael jackson. Leave him alone. He's been scrutinized enough by you people. If he wants to order room service at 4 in the morning so what. He's 'MICHAEL JACKSON' he can do whatever the hell he wants.

Trust the media to get it wrong again (and I'm a trained journallist so I'm bashing my own 'people' here) This is just not a story. And to say he infuriated staff is ridiculous as the hotel worker's comment proves. A hotel of this standing would not blink twice at being asked to deliver room service at any time of day or night.
I firmly believe that people, especially here in the UK, are sick of seeing MJ demonised. The media is behind the times on Jackson. He has a huge fanbase whose members just want to see him getting on with his life and treated fairly by the press.
You do balance your story by saying that MJ telephoned the staff to say thank you but that headline is what will stick in peoples' minds - as you know.
