Owen Wilson says being eco-friendly is like smoking marijuana.

The 'Wedding Crashers' star - who recently bought a Toyota Prius hybrid gas-electric car to reduce his carbon footprint - has become addicted to going green.

Owen is quoted in new book 'The Green Book - The Everyday Guide to Saving the Planet One Simple Step at a Time' as saying: "You know how people say marijuana is a gateway drug? That's sort of what buying a Prius was for me.

"I love nature, and I love taking walks on the beach at sunset. And if that makes me sound like Miss February filling out her turn-ons in a Playboy magazine biography, so be it."

Although Owen is determined to save the planet, one star who doesn't care about the environment is Cameron Diaz.

The 'Shrek the Third' star admits she is too "selfish" to reduce her carbon footprint.

Cameron said: "I don't want to be running around barefoot, pushing my car like Barney Rubble. I don't want to go back to the Stone Age. I just want to maintain what we have for a long period of time - forever. How nice would that be? I'm very selfish."
