Daniel Radcliffe has become the youngest actor ever to be immortalised as a waxwork at Madame Tussauds.

The figure of the 17-year-old 'Harry Potter' star, sporting stubble and dressed in a dark suit and tie, was unveiled at the famous London museum today (02.07.07).

Madame Tussauds London's Ben Lovett said: "With his 18th birthday around the corner and stage roles like 'Equus' under his belt, Daniel has become a young British acting force to be reckoned with.

"It's been great for the studio's sculptors to recreate someone who we've all watched growing up on the big screen."

Asked why sculptors decided to ditch Harry Potter's trademark glasses and scar, Lovett said: "Daniel is nearly 18 and he has some serious acting roles under his belt and we wanted to reflect that.

"For the last couple of years, people have been asking for a Daniel Radcliffe figure and they said we should include him as a British star in his own right."

It has been revealed Daniel was too busy to sit for sculptors and hasn't even seen the likeness yet.

Sculptor Colin Jackman said: "We had a lot of research from photos and film footage. Most times, celebrities will sit, but in this case, it did not happen."

The unveiling comes just ahead of the UK premiere of the latest movie 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'.

The waxwork will feature alongside some of Hollywood's biggest stars, including Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Julia Roberts in the museum's Blush area.
