Josh Duhamel's love transformation

'Transformers' star Josh Duhamel wishes he could transform into an aeroplane so he could fly to wherever his girlfriend Fergie is.

The 34-year-old actor - who plays Captain Lennox in the new blockbuster based on the 80s robot cartoon series - has been dating Stacy 'Fergie' Ferguson for almost three years, but admits the amount of time they spend apart takes its toll on his heart.

He told the USA Today newspaper: "If I could transform into anything, I'd transform into a little plane, a little Learjet. That way I could go to where I needed to be and I'd see my girlfriend more often."

Josh is hoping he and the 'My Humps' singer can settle in the country and start a family.

He said: "I can't wait to be a dad. That's part of the reason I want to get a place in Minnesota, I'm trying to get a place on a lake out there.

"I don't want kids to grow up all the time in Los Angeles.

The couple currently share a Los Angeles home and have just installed a luxury barbecue and beer tap in the garden.

Josh said: "My whole thing has been getting a barbecue.

"I want the pimpest barbecue! We're putting a TV out there, and we have beer tap.

"I'm a little more cheap than she is. She told me to get the Viking, with the side burner and a rotisserie on it and a wood-smoker thing. It's really cool.

"I just love to be outside, kicking it on the patio and drinking beer. I like to do stuff outside, whether it's landscaping stuff or golfing or hiking."

When Fergie - who preformed at the Concert for Diana in London yesterday (01.07.07) - is home, the couple like to exercise together, hang out with their dogs, Zoe and Meatloaf, and cook lasagne together.
