Amy Winehouse has brought "rock 'n' roll spirit back to pop music", according to producer Mark Ronson.
Ronson - the producer behind many of the hit songs Amy's chart-topping album 'Back to Black' - thinks the star's rebellious and wild reputation is refreshing.
He said: "Amy is bringing a rebellious rock 'n' roll spirit back to popular music. It's been a long time since anybody in the pop world has come out and admitted their flaws, because everyone's trying so hard to project perfection. But Amy will say, 'Yeah, I got drunk and fell down. So what?'
"She doesn't chase fame. She's lucky she's that good, because she doesn't have to."
Amy, 23, refused to go to be treated for alcoholism after her management team became concerned about her heavy-drinking.
The stand-off was the inspiration behind hit song 'Rehab'.
