Avril Lavigne is set to swap singing for acting.
The diminutive star, who recently had roles in 'Fast Food Nation' and 'The Flock', is on the look out for a lead Hollywood role.
Avril is reportedly in talks with Sony BMG for a major part in a "thriller feature film", playing a "kind of a white trash girl".
The 22-year-old, who is already signed as a recording artist to Sony BMG, made her film debut voicing a character in the 2006 animated movie 'Over The Hedge'.
Despite having major success as a singer, Avril is said to be keen to do more "outside of music".
Avril - who shot to fame aged 17 with hit singles like 'Complicated' and 'Sk8er Boi' - has already turned her talents to modelling as well, landing a contract with Ford Models agency.
