Britney Spears is considering filing a restraining order against her mother, it has been reported.
The 'Toxic' singer is said to have visited her attorney earlier this week to make enquiries about the order, which would keep her mother Lynne away from Britney's children, reports gossip website X17online.
Sources claimed the troubled star was furious with Lynne for making her check into rehab to seek help for her alleged alcohol addiction and post-natal depression earlier this year.
Lynne also reportedly sided with Britney's estranged husband Kevin Federline during the couple's custody battle for their two sons, 21-month-old Sean Preston and Jayden James, nine months.
Lynne recently insisted her relationship with her daughter was improving, but added Britney still has a long way to go.
She said: "It's sad that the whole world had to watch her make mistakes that all of us have made at one time or another. "Britney Jean Spears is the sweetest and the most sensitive and loving of all my children. She's just figuring things out."

yea, cause everyone i know pops out 2 kids with a scumbag white trash guy as the father. and we all drive with our infants on our laps, right? and who in the US hasn't gone out in the town with no underwear in a short skirt flashing our saggy beavers for the cameras. coke+alcohol binges while our new-born children are home without parental supervision?, yea we all do that too....
If anyone needs a guardian, this trainwreck does, but doubt if her mother is the best choice. Her kids will probbly grow up to be the typical screw-ups as the result of no intelligent person in their household.
I don't mean to bash. But how can you believe half of what the tabloids say? We do not REALLY know what she is doing. They make up stories so they can sell their magazines. Half the crap they make up isn't true. I'm not saying some of this isn't true but do we know Britney Spears? No we don't. So how can we sit back and judge her? I'm not excusing (sp) for her actions but still. If we don't know the whole truth then we just need to keep our mouths shut.

I get so sick of the remark of people that they haven't done anything different than everyone else has at one time or another when they are defending crazy actions!!! Granted Britney and other celebrities are under a microscope, but their behavior is their own - don't lump everyone together.
