Paris Hilton treats her animals "horribly", say her Beverly Hills neighbours.
The hotel heiress, who is currently serving a 45-day sentence for driving with a suspended licence, reportedly lets her menagerie of pets roam all over her neighbourhood and residents have had enough.
Shelby Segall, whose yard borders Paris', told the New York Post newspaper: "She treats her animals horribly. They are always getting out and running around the neighbourhood.
"She had a little orange kitty about a year ago that kept getting out and we kept telling her it was outside. She didn't seem like she cared, and then one day the cat got run over in the middle of the street and died. Not long after, little [Chihuahua] Tinkerbell came to my door and I left a note on her gate. Her assistant came over frantic and tried to offer me a $40 reward. I said, 'Don't insult me.' "
Another neighbour claims she found two of Paris' Chihuahuas running in the street and decided to take them into her house to keep them safe.
She revealed: "I found two little Chihuahuas of hers running up and down the street with cars and people going up and down. I put them in my bathroom and called Paris. Her assistant answered and said, 'You can't drop them off! Miss Hilton isn't home!' She took three hours to come get them although she only lives five houses away."
Meanwhile, Paris is being inundated with fan mail at California's Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood.
She has reportedly received more mail than any other prisoner in the history of the Los Angeles County jail system and her manager has been asked to pick up 20 crates of letters.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: "I don't know what she'd do without all the fan letters."
Jail spokesman Steve Whitmore revealed all Paris' mail is being screened.
He said: "Paris is being treated the same as every inmate, all mail is monitored. There's no limit on how much mail an inmate can receive, but everything is monitored and managed."

The electronic fence idea should be used on Paris herself. I'd hate to be those poor employees who have to read the inane babble of Paris fan letters!

I have owned 2 small dogs(long hair dashounds) for about 15 years before they died of old age. I now own a shepard. I can tell you that the 2 small dogs were always getting out of the house and yard but the large shepard rarely has left the yard and responds to comands quickly while the small dogs were adorable, they never followed comands out side the house. They seem to view it as a release game and we would have to chase them around the neighborhood. Small dogs get out the door with out being noticed most times. However I now have an electric fence and would reccomend it to all dog owners. The dog will not leave the yard. Therefore he can not get hit by cars or bother any people that might fear dogs. Great investment....
