Sir Paul McCartney celebrated his 65th birthday with a stylish fancy dress party last night (19.06.07).
The Beatle legend - who turned 65 on Monday (18.06.07) - was joined by a host of stars for the bash organised by his eldest daughters, Mary and Stella at his London home.
Guests at the Great Gatsby-themed party included Elton John, dressed in extravagant purple trousers and his partner David Furnish, who looked stylish in a black and white suit.
Screenwriter Richard Curtis, musician Jools Holland and photographer David Bailey also got into the spirit of the party with their elaborate outfits, while Kate Moss looked stunning in a long, slinky cream dress.
The celebrations were in stark contrast to last year when he celebrated his 64th birthday with a quiet family barbecue, following his bitter split from estranged wife Heather Mills.
Although he and Heather are now said to be on better terms as they finalise their divorce, she was not invited to last night's party as it was felt her presence would create tension.
Heather and Paul, who were married for four years, have a three-year-old daughter, Beatrice.

HI,
Ironic that Paul did not have heather mills at the bash, because he was sure she'd embarrass him. Reminds me of men who want a 'trophy' wife, and then when they get embarassed/tired of her, trade her in. Paul needs therapy, or he needs to get on with his marriage life, and if not heather, then dam it, someone good enough to stimulate his ego.
