The hotel heiress - who is serving 23 days at California's Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood - will make £500,000 from her prison diaries and can expect an equally large sum for an exclusive interview about her time behind bars.
An insider is quoted by Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Paris' jail diary will make a dramatic read. If she can make it believable and not exaggerate too much she can expect to make a fortune.
"And when she gets out it's the story everyone will want - how the pampered rich girl coped with life behind bars."
The 26-year-old socialite handed herself in to the detention facility on Sunday night (03.06.07), after attending the MTV Movie Awards.
Paris' lawyer Richard A. Hutton visited her on Monday (04.06.07) and said she was "doing very well".
He said: "Her attitude is - I'm going to come in here, I'm going to do my time, get it over with and I'm going to show the world who I really am.
"She's using this time to reflect on her life, to see what she can do to make the world better.
"She's doing very well under the circumstances. The staff here have reported that she has been gracious, polite, and thankful for helping her."
Paris is in solitary confinement cell which measures just 12 by eight feet.
It has a bunk bed, toilet, wash basin and two windows.
