I think that what MeMe Roth did to Jordin was terrible. It probably effected votes, but more importantly it definitly effected Jordin's self-esteem. I think that Ms. Roth needs a new persciption in those glasses, because clearly, Jordin is not overweight. I think that she should stop saying these things about Jordin right now, because they are clearly not true, and are effecting people in a very bad way. (Jordin). Yes, Jordin did do a modeling job for a plus size company. I have read many articles on this, and so far I have read in every one that Jordin is a size 12. Is that overweight. No, that is a normal size to be. Sorry, MeMe, that she isn't a size zero. I think that we need to stop focusing on the bad things about people, and start focusing on the good. Jordin is an amazing singer, and she has a great career ahead of her. She definitly deserved to win. I also hate how MeMe denied her claims of saying that Jordin was obese. The other guy asked her if she was saying that Jordin was obese, and she denied it, but then said that she clearly has some extra weight on her. I think that MeMe is just jelous because Jordin is just a beautiful, NORMAL size girl.

I think that this whole thing was utterly stupid, and that we could have stopped this whole thing by just not saying bad things about anybody in the first place, (I know, revelutionary idea,) but I think that how Jordin reacted was the best part of this whole thing. She has gotten over it quite nicely, I don't know how much of that was just for the cameras, but I think that she took the news quite well. I think that her reaction on this is just another great reason that Jordin is a great role model. Next time MeMe goes on, she should apologize, but more importantly, aknolage that Jordin has many other great features, her body being one of them. She is a beautiful girl, number 1. Number 2, she has an amazing voice, duh, thats why she won american idol. Number 3, she has a cute, bubbly stage presence that only Jordin Sparks could have. And last but not least, she is a great role model. She is not stick thin, which I think was great for everybody, she took this whole thing quite lightly, which, frankly, I did not expect her to do, and if you have listened to her express her views on abortion, she does it in quite a nice manner, just saying that is how she feels, and she dosen't have anything against people who don't feel that way. I think that was a great thing to do. I think all of us Jordin fans agree, Jordin is a cute, bubbly seventeen year old, who did not deserve to be critisized as she was!
I think that what MeMe was saying about it being terrible to have an overweight girl win American Idol in the throws of a childhood obesity crisis were not true. I mean, maybe she would be right, if all the other role models in the world were fat and couch potatoes. But they aren't. Most of the celeberties out there are stick thin, and those people aren't doing a thing for our obese children. So why would haveing a stick thin American Idol help any more than our celebs do. I think Jordin is just the role model that this country needs. She is the right weight for her size, not stick skinny. She is really tall, 5'10', whereas the stick thin celebs nowadays are 5'6' and the right weight for a 7 year old. Jordin is just the role model that America needs!
I keep reading about all these stories where meme roth comes back saying more things about Jordin. Why can't she just shut up? First she says Jordin's too fat to win american idol, then she says Jordin's contradictory, what is she going to say next? I can't believe that after the first death threat she wouldn't just stop saying these things and start apologizing like she should. I don't understand her thinking.
Size 12 is obese? Huh. Hard not to take that personally, since I'm a 5'10' size 12. Two years ago, at the same weight, I ran a half marathon (13.1 miles) in an hour and 58 minutes. I continue to run 4 miles three times a week. My blood pressure is below normal, and I have been called 'the picture of health' by a number of physicians.
In fact, I lost 100 pounds ten years ago and am one of the rare people who's been lucky enough to keep it off. I hope young women out there are smart enough to know that healthy is a feeling -- not a look. I have friends who don't exercise, eat crappy food, and smoke, and who maintain a naturally slender frame. Who is the 'picture' of unhealth?
Ignore MeMe. Jordin sets an example of self-confidence and self-awareness. I wonder what we could do if we funneled all the anti-obesity press and self-hatred in this country into making a difference in the world.
I think Jealousy comes to mind. Someone who has nothing else better to say. If you look at Jordin's background, she is a very active girl. Man, her dad is a football coach...her family is all about sports. God created everyone to look different. So, not everyone can be stick thin. I think Jordin is beautiful and is a great role model to all girls young and old. And please Ms. Meme Roth, get another day job. Some judging others....look at your own life. You must have such low self esteem to pick on someone who is only 17.
Yes, Jordin is overweight. It is a fact. There is no doubt that she is a beautiful girl, but this topic is not about beauty. No one is saying that she is fat and ugly. This is about health, and at size 12 she is putting herself at risk for heart disease and diabetes. There is too big an emphasis on beauty and less on health. We worry that telling someone that they are overweight will make them feel bad about the way they 'look'. We need to get over that and realize that is is about more than just looks. It's about health. Again, Jordin will be beautiful no matter what size she is. But the question is: Is she really healthy?
I agree - If she is not ashamed of her weight why doesn't she tell us what it is? She is a little tubby.

Jordin's weight is just fine. i don't see what she's talking about, she has issues, serious issues!! Jordin is number 1 always she should keep on what she does best and that to grace us and inspire us with her GOD given talent. she is truly a blessing from GOD.

Jordin Sparks is a beautiful young girl that does have 'meat on her bones'. 'Vision of unhealth'? Are you joking? MeMe or whatever her name may be would maybe rather have Jordin's head over a toliet bowl and her finger down her throat as to conform to her standards or health and/or beauty? Her weight is not an issue. There are many people who are obese in the world and Jordin isn't one of them. Ruben is four times her size and yet she mentions him not once.
For once a girl is not skinny, they should let her live in peace.

Jordin is an absolutely beautiful young woman and she doesn't appear overweight at all. No doubt by BMI standards etc. she is probably a healthy weight. They wouldn't be commenting if she didn't eat much at all and looked underweight!

They are missing the issue anyway. Generally people are overweight because they have low self esteem. Because they have an unhealthy relationship with food. Calling someone fat will not help them!
These so called experts need to care more about peoples self esteem. Because maybe if people felt good about themselves they would want to look after their bodies with good food and activity.
Excess weight is not the problem, but a symptom of a much bigger issue, because just as much as obesity is a growing problem , so are eating disorders! We need to be encouraged to be 'healthy' not skinny.
Clips on youtube on eating disorders are so disturbing. And you never know who has one!
