Phil Spector Trial: Bruised mouth and coroner's sworn testimony

The Phil Spector trial being shown on Court TV took a very interesting turn. Lana Clarkson, according to a sworn witness, was the victim of a homicide. So says the Los Angeles coroner who examined her body and who told the jury his professional opinion. The trial now has moved into the realm of scientific evidence.Spector's attorney's claim Clarkson "accidentally" killed herself in the early hours of Feb. 3, 2003. Spector

The prosecution says no. They claim Spector, 67, was the one who pulled the trigger and shot Clarkson, whom he first met at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip that night.Pena said definitively and several times in response to Deputy Dist. Atty. Alan Jackson's questions: "This is a homicide."His opinion was concluded by his review of the physical evidence and circumstantial conditions that in his mind, ruled out suicide. Pena

Circumstantial evidence included Spector's statement to his Brazilian born chauffeur, "I think I killed somebody." Adriano DeSouza, the limo driver, testified that he heard Spector say this when he left his Alhambra home about 5 a.m., holding a gun and with blood on his hands.Pena also said the actual crime scene scenario the defense claims was unheard of. "I've never seen a case reported" in which someone goes to a stranger's home "and magically comes up with a gun and shoots herself." "How would she have known where the gun is?" Pena added.Pena cited the lack of blood in the recesses of the gun, and stated that the weapon had been wiped clean.There was blood, "but wiped away in several areas of the gun. That tells me someone manipulated the gun," he testified under oath.Spector's left pocket on his trousers had blood stains, indicating that bloody hands or a bloody weapon may have been put into the pocket. All of the blood matched Clarkson's, Pena said.The fact that Clarkson had no evidence of being depressed or suffered from a psychiatric disorder also added weight to the prosecution's case.The records showed she was a hopeful person, Pena testified, with no history of past suicide attempts.Then there was the fact that Clarkson's tongue was bruised, indicating force. Pena described how the gun was in Clarkson's mouth and that it was the gun's recoil that shattered her top front teeth, blowing them out of her mouth. The bullet went through her head and severed her spine.Death, Pena said, was likely instantaneous. Because death came so quickly, he said, Clarkson was unable to exhale or cough, so blood could not be expelled.Spector, if convicted, could face 15 years to life in prison.source

Thing is this is like the old days when people would literally kill to not go poor in LA

In Clark County this case is on record, talk about media, around 1967. Is this a claim for another Incorporated company where we have to get out our criminal record. so what Phil can be an asshole around the less talented that followed him about , there was a lot of hangers on, but in the end there is no convictions.

I haven't seen Phil for all this time 1967 onwards but tell me is there any real news, when I was a witness at Clartk County to the death of an actress

Maybe it all got the better of him

Being a better person mayne in the end he gave up and became what MGM wanted him to be after all they were the worst neighbours in LA. I don't see MGM on triAl for what they did to us at Universal all in teh Clarks County testimony, what did teh world get up and die and there is no news except for teh sixties becuase it never got telivized then so do it now . PLease it's not funny

And do you know what if he dosesn't know me now, I can't help but then I heard some good about him in conversation, if it wasn't for him

If people get on my nerves I say so maybe not enough that's why I am under the thumb of this world

The chauffeur gets done for it first then it's all paid for cover up
